Hey
Many of you are aware of it already but this is the public post to make it official.
After taking a long time to come to this decision, I have decided to step down from Head-Admin and being part of staff. It took so long to finally decide as for a while I felt that I couldn't step down in a sense, but I feel like the timing is right and I didn't want to continue in a role which I was struggling to find the will to work in.
There are a multitude of reasons for it being now and people can feel free to message me if they want to talk further, but I'd rather talk about my time as staff rather than focusing on the leaving.
Outbreak has put countless obstacles, challenges and environments in my path for me to deal with and given me a depth of experience that not many people can say they've taken from an online role. From running events to dealing with people on a more personal level, I have been able to grasp an understanding of people from so many different backgrounds.
Unlike back when I was moderator on CSS, there was a level of emotion to it this time that I never had before and I can only say I'm grateful for being able to work on this community in that way. It might just be an online gaming community but it means a lot to me. Outbreak became something that putting time into was more valuable to me than a lot of things which other people might have thought should have taken priority, but I'm glad that it did.
One of my few regrets is that during my time we weren't able to establish expansion on a server level for a prolonged period of time. We grew as a core community and, in my opinion, became far more unified than we were before I entered the position but it appears the task of further game server expansion is on the shoulders of those who I will leave.
I'd like to thank everyone who has ever put or will put voluntary work into this community, as staff or otherwise. I will still be around as a member (though busy due to exams for the near future) and if I ever decide to return to staff I'll work my way up, the way any ex staff member should.
My only request is that as a community we try show our appreciation for those who put effort in a bit more. I'm aware many of you do appreciate people's efforts and you do mean well, but showing that bit of acknowledgement and perhaps turning the whining or picking into doing or constructing would go a long way towards progressing this community further.
For anyone who is confused: Kwaheri means Goodbye in Swahili.

The GTX 1060 3GB is a very good choice now. Cheaper than a RX 480 and only a bit less performance than a GTX 1060 6GB. If u want to be even more cheaper, look for a  GTX 960/970 or maybe a 950. Should be fine to run all AAA titles on high settings with 60fps.

❅ Payment Changes & Server Costs
I recently received an email from our host stating that their prices will be increasing by 20% as of 15th of January 2017 due to "economic changes following the Brexit"
Following on from that, a few have suggested we just change host however I'm personally not inclined to do this. We've been with our current host for the past year on a dedicated game server and throughout the entire time the server has never really had any issues (from them at least)  Also our host has migrated over 40 attacks over the past year and that's just a great feeling to know we don't have to change house every 3 months. So the host may be expensive but they are a quality host. That expense isn't the best of news though after our donation system was down for a considerable amount of time and has only recently come back in the past couple of months.
All the same, onto some better news! Instead of increasing our prices to help ease our burdens, we will be doing the opposite of our host and putting our VIP donation package on a 20% discount until the beginning of January. This is to encourage as many donations you lovely folk can offer! Hopefully this will allow us to top up our server rental time before they increase the prices and give us more time to look for alternative hosting providers should we need to change.

As mentioned in the last couple News & Updates, there have been significant changes to the way the donation system works and the various perks available. There has also been an ongoing advent during the Christmas month which you can sign up for each day by logging into the page and clicking on the advent day. ❅ A Goodbye  
Dipping into a negative, some of you will have noticed that a member of staff has recently been removed from his position. We wanted to take a moment to explain the reasons behind his demotion and consequential punishment. On multiple occasions the individual was warned for abusing his powers. We are relatively trusting in our staff and we prefer to be relaxed when they use powers with fun in mind, however we still expect them to take it on as a responsibility and to be considerate of others when using said powers. The number of complaints we received due to the individual abusing to the point where he was ruining the game mode for others was beyond anything even remotely appropriate. Although we appreciate the effort he did put into this community, it's a shame that it will be overshadowed by the behaviour that has resulted in his demotion and month ban from the community.
 
❅ Staff Recruitment Continues & Community Efforts To Improve OB
Back to a more uplifting note, Moderator apps are still open and they are going to be staying that way for the time being so I suggest all members, both new and old, try playing the server. Whether that be to show us what great potential mods you could make or just to improve the quality of our server atmosphere and give back to the community that we have all spent countless hours in. It's a family time of year and we want you to spend time with your kin and co, but in a way Outbreak is also a (very disjointed ) family and it needs all the support that the community can bring at this time.

Rank Restriction: Although I was unsure about this, many have expressed a desire for it. I've read everything put forward, and also thought about it a bit. Decided to put a rank restriction of GOLD NOVA 3 on this event. For those of you saying that's too low - Storm was a nova 3 in the ESL summer event, and had multiple 20 bomb games vs  supreme+ teams.  I also thought, this is Christmas time, a bit harsh to just exclude people from what could be a really fun few days where everyone is occupied. For those of you saying it's too high - still apply. I will consider your application if you're nova 2 or below, possibly with other people who know you well. Because personally, I would rather have a nova 1 on my team who is committed, friendly, competitive, communicative etc, than a DMG who's just going to run around pugging, it ruins the competitive and fun nature. Looking back I would have chose Conor on my team over some of the other higher rankers in this community, because he had a desire to win, cared about the team, held his positions as I told him to etc. Everyone will play the same amount of games, and surely you want them to be as chill/fun as possible! Either work on getting to nova 3 over the next month or so, or still apply if you think you have a shot because of consideration. Commitment: This is probably the most important thing. PLEASE PLEASE only sign up to this event if you know you're gonna be able to make these games. To put the math in perspective for you: 3 days of games, possibly 35 people, that's 7 teams, so you play 6 games (everybody once in a round robin formula) That's TWO gathers per night for 3 days straight - which will be dated in advance for you. - Hardly difficult to commit to. Reserves: That brings in the idea of reserves, please sign up if you don't think you can commit to it all, but would gladly step in if available. More reserves the better! Also moaning about a reserve being lower or higher rank may just have to be a thing. It's a very short event in comparison to ESL, and will be at a moments notice, we can't go searching for reserves 48 hours in advance to find the most ideal replacement. Maps: Cache, Cobblestone, Mirage, Overpass, Nuke, Train, Dust2, Inferno. 8 maps. Captain one will remove 4 maps, captain two will remove 3 maps and pick the side. Played via: Popflash How will tourney work: Sort of said this all above. But let's say we have 35 sign ups (around the amount who said they would in the poll) - we put them into 7 teams of 5. It's a big group of 7 teams, everyone plays each other once for 6 matches, then at the end we'll hopefully have teams ranked 1-7th. Matches will go on at the same time, otherwise it'll take FOREVER. Twitch-stream: Probably be too hard to do this, due to how many games will be going on at once. But if you're not playing and wanna stream a game for others who aren't playing or viewing, go for it. Prizes: I'm a poor student, so nothing right now. Although it's not outbreak endorsed hopefully we can persuade the council chambers to throw in some kind of credit prize for the top 3 teams. General person restriction: Nothing on this at the moment, but ideally gotta be a known face. If you have an event ban I'm pretty sure you can play this, as, again, it isn't officially endorsed. Stats: Very easy to record stats through popflash. I'll do this and release them very promptly. Recognition for all forms of stats - flashbang assists, F.E.D, K.D, Headshot %, clutch kills etc. Sign up close date and beyond: I'm going to close this thread (or get a mod to xD) around the 16h of December, giving everyone like 3 weeks to sign up. After that I'll meet with a few people who have expressed interest in helping, and from then until the tournament starts we'll work on creating teams and a schedule - no idea yet on when you'll know your teams, ideally before Christmas so you can bond and practice. Today is a sad day..... its Keijis last day on the internet for a few months until hes up and running as he is moving to France.

Keiji is legit one of my favourite people within outbreak, me and Keiji can literally be in a channel along and laugh for hours, talking shit, making weird noises, i think his autism rubs off on me haha. I will miss him whiles he is gone and look forward to his return.

Please put in the description or something, that the channel is intended for people that can take mature content, a place to release steam or whatever. I would say 18+ but the intention of the channel is not to have an age-restriction as we have welcomed many people who have been under 18. 
Our channel does NOT need policing. Someone spamming chat with 32, dropping bombs, or general NSFW content should not be met with a ban. Obviously serious shit like bullying, ddosing, hacking, threatening etc should still be dealt with but honestly use your judgement.
The promise was with the removal of 'Veteran' (even though people are still widely known as vets) was that we would have our own channel to chill and release the pressure valve in without having to worry about being banned. Banning for stupid dumb shit like spamming local chat or playing a soundboard just cos that one mod who is sitting there sniping doesn't like it, is so dumb.
Im not having a go at anyone, that is not the intention. But doing this kind of shit is honestly just going to cause fights, let it be obvious that OG channel is intended for audiences who can have a laugh and take a bit of banter. Surprisingly enough as many of you know, we are not cunts unless we are unnecessarily provoked, lol.
tl;dr = give our channel a warning, dont sit there sniping, chill the fuck out.
