As gathers are getting a lot less frequent, wouldn't it be a good idea to open the flood gates and let randoms join, we have been trying to up the member base for sometime now within OB and why not try it this way? We are already in the top 3 community groups within face it.

The main concern would be a load of randoms connecting to TS, but wernt we all randoms at one point, no matter how we got here, personally i think it would be a belting idea and same rules goes for that as it would with any server based game.

    "Fuck around and get banned"

    Thoughts?

So today I wanted to get on a deathmatch server to farm cases, because new cases = much money yes, but then these guys were making pyramid towers:

Then we went on to play HnS and we did trivias in chat and talked about traps for about 10 minutes, best and most engaging "deathmatch" game I've ever played, sadly no one got a crate in the end but it was all good.

Firstly, regarding the "But CS Event didn't get punished why are they?" I didn't manage the CS tournament, I simply was to assist with the server Tech and related questions that Kai had. I personally think that anyone who breaks the Event Cooldown rules, deserves to be punished for it. It's just up to the Event Host to interpret the rules, and to decide who actually deserves to be punished for it.
Now onto Pasickle and Joji, they gave me absolutely no notice. Supposedly Pasickle had asked someone to pass a message along (which really isn’t good enough), but getting told by Pepe 5.30PM when the event starts at 6.00PM wasn’t particularly helpful.
Extinct claimed he gave me a week’s notice, telling me that Danny and he wouldn’t be able to play. However, this ‘week’s notice’ was actually two pokes (no attempt to follow up via Steam, the forums or any other medium), and receiving no response from me. I only saw these pokes AFTER by searching through my TS records (I had been testing disabling my sound notifications for streaming). Whilst this might scantily just come under the umbrella definition of ‘week’s notice’, it’s kind of like saying that Rustlers come under the umbrella of a flame-grilled burger i.e it’s kind of true, but it’s mainly just shit.
If I had signed up for a tournament but had to leave for whatever reason, I would at least make sure 100% that the event host definitely knew. If the event host didn't respond by my first poke, I would NOT just assume he’d seen it and taken it on-board. I’d tell my captain, or drop a message on the forums (either post on the thread, or PM). Or I would join them in Teamspeak for 5 seconds, to confirm they know. I would make absolutely certain that the event hosts had received my messages and knew the score, because I know how fucking chaotic events are when people: A) don’t turn up, B) don’t communicate. We’ve had a couple of stars in this thread who’ve managed to achieve not just A but B as well!
I’ve spent a significant amount of my personal time on this tournament, which I’m not sure is really appreciated by anyone who doesn’t manage a full-time work-life, as well as a part-time university course, alongside the extra responsibilities I assume in running OB*. I’ve been chasing up every single person in this tournament, on Teamspeak, the forums, Steam etc. I chased and chased until I was 100% certain people had got my message. If I could do this for all of you, me, one person, for all of you, why could you not do that ONE thing for me, given all that I was doing to put on an event for your benefit.
After I’d chased everyone, I’d then do a final check to see everyone was signed up to Battlefy, by again messaging everyone via TS and the forums. In addition, I also asked their captains to check if their players were signed up.
For the picking phase, I had created Google Sheets documents to help team captains know everyone’s role preferences, rank etc in an easily digestible format. Spending some time testing out streaming, before giving up most of my weekend for the actual tournament, as well as managing the tournament, which whilst not sound like a big deal for some of you guys who are still in school or uni, but get back to me when you’re working 40 hours from Tuesday-Friday, with me at college on Monday for my IT course, alongside assignments. It’s actually quite tiring - weird, I know.
I gave IrishChamp a tournament ban, and two normal event bans, because even with the an actual week’s notice, it was after I had checked everybody’s availability and set-up the teams. That’s the result for Irish out of the way.
Now for the rest of you: you all receive 2 tournament bans, and 3 event bans because you didn't give me any notice. This completely fucking broke the balance of the teams, and pretty much twatted the tournament. The reason the punishment is this severe is not just because of the disrespect you guys have shown to me for the effort put in, but also the absolute lack of a shit you seem to give about the people who actually did turn up, but whose tournament you played a huge role in twatting.
*I’m happy to do this, but I’d appreciate a bit more understanding from certain members, particularly from members who are certainly much more time-rich than I am.

Thanks for hosting the tournament Kai, Mintlou and Conor, especially Kai for keeping it together on the Friday evening.  Always nice to see the community coming together and still showing that there are plenty of people still knocking around.  There are always disagreements and complaints with tournaments, especially regarding replacement players but I think it's a good idea to remember that this is all for fun in the end, obviously that doesn't mean you shouldn't be competitive but consider the pool of players available and the fact that it is practically impossible to replace somebody with another person who is of the same skill.

Aside from that, thanks for the tournament and apologies to my teammates for continually lagging through all of our games, truly it is rather frustrating but it was still enjoyable to play, even if we did get knocked out last night after such a close game.

I don’t get why everyone is so mad, if the other team won, you lot wouldn’t be crying this much but instead try to find every excuse to say how bad the tourney was.
Kai done a very good job, and none of u realise how much he’s actually done to make this tourney actually work, especially on the first day where he had to go through the stress of starting every game on his own and making sure everything is organised.
Also, to however said that Kai is unfairly picking teams so he has more of an advantage to win, you need to grow up. It’s a community tournament and the only prize is having the bragging rights to say you won. As well, cereal was an upgrade from Jama (rank wise) so having rhyse instead of pasickle was fair but if pasickle were to play mid-series, that team would of had an advantage over all other teams in the tounement by having a reserve higher rank than the player.
Also, unlike pasickle, I said in advance that if it goes to a third map, I won’t be able to play. Whereas pasickle randomly showed up after saying he ‘can’t play at all’ and expecting to play mid-series and then everyone start crying about how Kai is unfairly evening out the tournament.
Maybe next time we should let all the people who said that this tournament was rubbish and says all the things that went wrong, host the tournament and see how they could do better. At one point me and Kai thought that the tounement couldn’t even happen due to lack of players but it did happen and it was a good tourney apart from the people who constantantly feel the need to complain about everything.

Actually that game used to be one of the games I played in my childhood :D.  Never used to do very well since I didn't understand it but much I loved the idea of the game so much that I still play the newest versions that come out :).  Admittedly I still need to play the most recent one more since I haven't really had time to properly invest time into it.

Used to play this loads when I was younger :).

Aside from that, thank you to Conor (and anybody else who helped) for organising the tournament and streaming everything, the work you put into getting this together is truly what allows us all to have fun and enjoy the game together.
Thank you to the casters as well who commentated, allowing us all to enjoy watching the games.  I always think it is nice to look back on something like this and rewatch such a memory :).

Thank you also to all the players for making this happen and as always, thank you to my team for playing.  Also commiserations to Lemon Haze but we'll played in the final :), always better to have a close final than a quick 2-0 stomp.

    Hey guys,
I've briefly mentioned that I was working on a new Landing page before and after many "behind the scenes" memes and months it's finally live!
I have only been able to work on it in my spare time which is why this project ended up taking months. I learnt a lot from this project and taught myself new stuff along the way. I have also been working on a video which probably took more time than the actual webpage.
    Landing Page: https://outbreak-community.com
    Video:
If you haven't already, please subscribe to the Outbreak Youtube channel for more cool videos in the future.
Anyway, I hope you guys like the design and feel of the landing page and enjoy watching the video. I also recommend trying out the page on your phone as it is fully responsive and looks cooler on there.
Thanks to Conor for helping out with some design advice too.

    Hello Ladies and Gentlemen,
I am proud to announce the official Grand opening of our latest CSGO Server.....

I've been working on this server for quite a while now and though there were a few delays, it's
now finally at a stage where I want to get the opinions from the Community,
improve everything else through Community play-testing and get feedback.
This also let's all you lovely guys and gals provide any suggestions you have.
    Its all about MG:
The server, at least at the start, is primarily going to be full of Multigames Maps
(My idea is to add single game mode maps later with a lower map time so it does not bore people)   At the start I'll be avoiding course maps as from OB's past experience it didn't go too well with our Community
(Though open to changes later on down the line)
Store will have some additional items for players and donators alike
(I'd like to add more models however we currently don't have anyone that can do them) Credits Re-work - Minigames will be the trialled with some changes to the credits system. There are going to be two separate changes which I hope makes it a more enjoyable system. The amount of credits you earn is increasing to 20 credits for every 4 minutes
(Which works out to be  a x5 increase per minute) Price of most items will be increased by roughly double
Auto Bhop will be enabled, I've had some play testing with some of the admin team so we'll see how it plays out.  A Statistics System much like surf (RIP surf) and I'm currently looking at getting a Web Interface for it.
I'll be doing a Grand Opening event on Friday 12th of May where players can show who is the true MG Masters. Sign up here if you want to get involved in the opening event.
Also Congratulations to those who have understood some of my MG Music hints and
     the pixelated MG Map images.

After the opening event which should start at 6pm and last till around 7:30-8pm,
the server will go down for about 5-10 minutes to record Stats for the event,
after which the Server will then be open to everyone!
Hope to see you all in our new server soon.
    Sir_Conor x
