@Extinct ツ did a nice little cropping job and neglected to leave out the disclaimer accompanying the rules.

Its because I gave conor a week warning before the league tourny that myself and danny couldn`t make it through pokes on teamspeak while he was active.
Then a week later the day of the league tourny I see a post by conor that kiper is not available to play which he had information on about a week before the
event but decided to post it on the day of the event that he wasnt available.I noticed he didnt include either me or danny in this post so I waited as soon as
conor came on to tell him we werent available to play which wasnt less then an hour before the tourny but obviously less then a 24 hour notice.Thats why I
left that out.

I would still argue that there's no point having ban 'rules' if it's just gonna be up to the host's discretion anyway

i get 1 or 2 tourney style event ban, since it was a tournament. but other 3 event bans as well are kinda pointless and don't need to be there. its like a year or more worth of events they don't have the option to join in on.

This makes sense

That's fair I wasn't aware of the exact situation I thought you guys had flaked out last minute.

If you guys informed Conor a week before then I think it should just be a one event ban, as that is the same situation as when I had to leave.

I mean in the cs event we had to go to the extreme of getting randoms to play as there was people not turning up and the people who didn’t turn up didn’t rly get an event ban so I think that a 3 day event ban is definately very harsh especially when the event went smoothly unlike the cs event

even if i only gave conor less than an hours notice (which i defo didn't) we should've only gotten 2 event bans according to the rules that gunstar had put in the event cool down thread, i really don't understand why we are banned from 5. To be honest hardly anyone play the events anyway and banning more people from them is just gonna make it less enjoyable for others when they attend an event with like 10 people in it. please may you at least re-think the bans or cut them down because i personally think they are very unfair and im sure danny, extinct and joji also do.

I think you're all missing the point that for two tournaments in a row there have been people flaking and ruining it for everyone who can be bothered to properly commit. You sign up to the event and commit to those dates, so don't expect to be spared just because you give notice. Then you have the nerve to come on the forums and bitch about how its unfair that you get banned. To be honest, the fact that the people who ditched the CS tournament didn't get a ban and you did is total shit, I'll 100% agree with you there. But you still deserve the bans that you got whether you like it or not and regardless of how others were dealt with in the CS tournament.

These last two tournaments have been shit because of the community deciding to say they will commit then dropping out after making other plans or not being arsed to turn up. The CS tournament was the worst event I've participated in since I joined OB and this league tournament almost felt like a waste of time. The only reason I turned up to the two events after the shit show of people not turning up is because I didn't want to spoil it for everyone else. I don't understand why you 'commit' to these dates if you know that you're not going to keep to that commitment. I make sure that I keep those dates free so I don't fuck up the tournament for everyone else, it's not even that hard. Sure, shit comes up in real life and that's perfectly fine. You can't be expected to drop everything for a community tournament, but that's only okay if you have a valid reason to do it. Irish seems to understand that but it's somehow gone right over your heads.

The only reason you didn't come is because you wanted to participate in another tournament, for the sake of 3 people. What about the 15 people who decided to commit their time to this tournament that you fucked by not showing up to? If the next event is like this then I'm not going to bother signing up anymore, because I know I won't be able to trust the community to stand to their commitments and it'll ruin another tournament for me.

On a side note, I personally think that you should both be banned from next month's Faceit gather system instead of these long bans, but you run the thing so that's not going to happen is it.

This isn't just a shot at @Danny and @Extinct ツ, this applies to all you who choose not to keep to your commitments to the tournaments. Either keep to the commitment or don't bother signing up at all.

Firstly, regarding the "But CS Event didn't get punished why are they?" I didn't manage the CS tournament, I simply was to assist with the server Tech and related questions that Kai had. I personally think that anyone who breaks the Event Cooldown rules, deserves to be punished for it. It's just up to the Event Host to interpret the rules, and to decide who actually deserves to be punished for it.

Now onto Pasickle and Joji, they gave me absolutely no notice. Supposedly Pasickle had asked someone to pass a message along (which really isn’t good enough), but getting told by Pepe 5.30PM when the event starts at 6.00PM wasn’t particularly helpful.

Extinct claimed he gave me a week’s notice, telling me that Danny and he wouldn’t be able to play. However, this ‘week’s notice’ was actually two pokes (no attempt to follow up via Steam, the forums or any other medium), and receiving no response from me. I only saw these pokes AFTER by searching through my TS records (I had been testing disabling my sound notifications for streaming). Whilst this might scantily just come under the umbrella definition of ‘week’s notice’, it’s kind of like saying that Rustlers come under the umbrella of a flame-grilled burger i.e it’s kind of true, but it’s mainly just shit.

If I had signed up for a tournament but had to leave for whatever reason, I would at least make sure 100% that the event host definitely knew. If the event host didn't respond by my first poke, I would NOT just assume he’d seen it and taken it on-board. I’d tell my captain, or drop a message on the forums (either post on the thread, or PM). Or I would join them in Teamspeak for 5 seconds, to confirm they know. I would make absolutely certain that the event hosts had received my messages and knew the score, because I know how fucking chaotic events are when people: A) don’t turn up, B) don’t communicate. We’ve had a couple of stars in this thread who’ve managed to achieve not just A but B as well!

I’ve spent a significant amount of my personal time on this tournament, which I’m not sure is really appreciated by anyone who doesn’t manage a full-time work-life, as well as a part-time university course, alongside the extra responsibilities I assume in running OB*. I’ve been chasing up every single person in this tournament, on Teamspeak, the forums, Steam etc. I chased and chased until I was 100% certain people had got my message. If I could do this for all of you, me, one person, for all of you, why could you not do that ONE thing for me, given all that I was doing to put on an event for your benefit.

After I’d chased everyone, I’d then do a final check to see everyone was signed up to Battlefy, by again messaging everyone via TS and the forums. In addition, I also asked their captains to check if their players were signed up.

For the picking phase, I had created Google Sheets documents to help team captains know everyone’s role preferences, rank etc in an easily digestible format. Spending some time testing out streaming, before giving up most of my weekend for the actual tournament, as well as managing the tournament, which whilst not sound like a big deal for some of you guys who are still in school or uni, but get back to me when you’re working 40 hours from Tuesday-Friday, with me at college on Monday for my IT course, alongside assignments. It’s actually quite tiring - weird, I know.

I gave IrishChamp a tournament ban, and two normal event bans, because even with the an actual week’s notice, it was after I had checked everybody’s availability and set-up the teams. That’s the result for Irish out of the way.

Now for the rest of you: you all receive 2 tournament bans, and 3 event bans because you didn't give me any notice. This completely fucking broke the balance of the teams, and pretty much twatted the tournament. The reason the punishment is this severe is not just because of the disrespect you guys have shown to me for the effort put in, but also the absolute lack of a shit you seem to give about the people who actually did turn up, but whose tournament you played a huge role in twatting.

*I’m happy to do this, but I’d appreciate a bit more understanding from certain members, particularly from members who are certainly much more time-rich than I am.

Weren't you signed up to play rather than spectate? No one gets bans for failing to spectate. Plenty of us have gotten event bans just for silly fun events, let alone a tourney, which is an utter ballache to organise. I'm p sure gaffer got one because he decided to get pissed at a barbecue instead of come and play. He got a ban and moved on.

He got one ban for one event because it wasn't any near as much effort to coordinate the event he was meant to be in. Single events are nightmareish, but tournaments are beyond hellish.

I also think vengeance made a blinding post above. I think if any change on punishments is going to happen, it will need the punished to understand why the punishments are so severe. If you get that, then you can see it from Con's point of view. From there, you can look to compromise. I'd personally take a breather, think about why Conor is so pissed, and then talk to him.

Punishments are there to deter damaging behaviour in the future. Commit to not behaving so in the future, and he might well have some give. I'd suggest a private conversation tho, lol. Forum convos lead to mob versus admin riot shields.

If you’re going to make the claim of “why would I take part in a league tournament instead of go out and socialise” then the event ban really shouldn’t harm you. Don’t put your name down unless you’re willing to put the event over things that are likely to come up (like nights out).

When I got my ban, I had actually told my girlfriend I wouldn’t be able to go to an any event that weekend Andy actually turned down a party invite. Unfortunately for me, I had the dates wrong in my head so it got in the way of other things. I made a fuck up, I ruined my team, I take a ban. Fair enough.

You seemingly choose the night out last minute over the tourney and effectively give no notice?
