I don't think cs is dead, just quite alot of people don't play it as much, for me personally I can enjoy cs if I want to it's just that right now I have some other games that I find more fun to play, but I do pop on cs for some long sessions from time to time, tbf CS:GO will not die for a very long time, if source and 1.6 still have large active communities 10 years later same will be with GO.
