    To everyone that else that wants to know we had our Admin Meeting was on Sunday discussing key points some of the key points over the past few weeks, Outbreaks Future options or suggestions and went through some ideas that both I and the Admin had and things that have been suggested by others. Most of the results of that Admin Meeting have been announced in the latest Outbreak Update thread here.

    Here is a link to the Previous year's event although it required a massive amount of time and effort, in the end, it was fun to run and see everyone getting involved playing with each other having a bit of fun.

    Thread for all new possible suggestions that Outbreak could either create a new server on. In this current suggestion phase, there is not going to be any real restriction except for the obvious of what we a feasibly actually do.

     

     

     

     

    As mention in the latest update for me personally, it would be nice if was an idea that Outbreak can make special, that will be interesting for new and old players and something that can have some sort of monetization to support Outbreak financially.  I'm going to repost a part of my Hey Outbreak thread showing some of the things I personally look at when looking at possible new servers for Outbreak.

    New Servers

    Every time a new game comes out or something in OB gets plenty of players are interested in. Technically the first thing I'll check is can I actually create a community server after that some of the biggest things I look for are:

    • What will make it an OB server?

    When thinking about creating a new server I want it to be an OB server something special, to give it OB personality. How can OB make it fun and special for new and old players alike. 

    • Players

    Does the server have a possibility of actually getting players? Is it popular in the community currently or is something we can get players over time.

    • Members

    Can the players be turned into members. Is there a reason for new players to return to our server? Is there any benefits we can get Members without ruining anything for new players.

    • Monetization

    Usually, this is just thinking about can the server be monetized to support OB. The OB coffers always need help and I want to be able to do special things for the community like tournaments that can back to people that may not play the main OB servers.

    Hey Everyone,

    Time for another update on Outbreaks current future plans and ideas.

    Jailbreak

    Although it has been fun for many of the players that have got involved with the Jailbreak server based on current lack interest overall Jailbreak is likely to close in the coming weeks. I would like to do an idea that was previously suggested by OB Members and do a send-off event for the game mode that was an integral part of the creation of Outbreak.  Even though many of the current players now longer enjoy the gamemode at they may have once done it was still what started Outbreak and turned in to a community that we now have today.

    New Server Discussion

    Outbreak is going to be investigating possible new server suggestions as such a thread soon to be created will be asking the community about this, hopefully, this will stimulate discussion between us all to have a better idea of what we should do next. Ideally, for me personally, it would be nice if was an idea that Outbreak can make special, that will be interesting for new and old players and something that can have some sort of monetization to support Outbreak financially. 

    Outbreaks 6th Year Birthday

    After last year relatively successful Birthday Bash at least I thought so anyway :spooky: This year I'm going to creating a thread for any more possible additional suggestions or ideas that you might like to give or get involved with. Most discussion, idea and plans about it can go there or hit me up with a message.

    League Winter 2018 Tournament 

    The League Winter 2018 Tournament will be played this weekend on Friday the 9th, Saturday the 10th and Sunday the 11th. It should be streamed via the Outbreak Twitch Channel so if you want to come and support us during the event. Also if you want to get involved in casting any of the games feel free to message me and I'll put your name on the list.

    Final Note

    On a final note, I hope to try to increase the amount and frequency of overall communication between Outbreak so hopefully, everyone has an idea of what either on or at least the current future plans. As Outbreak has changed from what we once were it may be time to overhaul look at what we can do you evolve and adapt to better fit our community.

    As we are doing a 4 Team Tournament what is everyone's prefered tournament style rather than doing groups I thought about maybe a double elimination bracket?

    Moderator Applications were open for Jailbreak and nothing else but you created your own imaginary role that you believe is needed and applied for it, Why would I approve an application for a none existent role. If you believe a dedicated forum moderator role is needed or other alternative options wouldn't the correct subforum to post be the "Questions and Suggestions" Section to actually discuss the issues you and seeing while providing your idea for a solution?

    I do have to question something you said How are you going behind my back by asking Finnley to edit the Event Cooldown thread? What? How? It a really simple admin task to just update the thread and remove your name, It in no way needs my input and could easily be handled by Fin as it was. For future reference, I would've said that if it doesn't require my input start just at the bottom of the admin team and move up as needed rather than starting for the top.

    To your overall "Forums are shit" etc.. For me when the community is in a decline like it currently is, I'm definitely a bit looser on the forum standards and are more willing to let people off with stuff, I'm not going to be as strict as at the end of the day most of it is harmless for a bit of fun. I'm not going to go around micro-managing every thread for the active forum members we have. I do agree that sometimes that a few people have been going a bit far on the forums and maybe it is something to look for and discuss a  possible solution. Personally, I've been thinking about creating an Outbreak Communications Role, with the main responsibilities of Communication and Forum Moderation it try and improve Outbreak's overall Communication. For me, Forum Moderation is a lot more complex role as people can definitely have their own bais of what is and isn't acceptable, and letting people get away with more stuff has been more prefered than having to deal with complaints of over-aggressive forum moderation.

    Hope I've answered for everything that mentioned and understand my opinions on it :y:

    - Small Update -

    Currently, We've had around 17 people sign up for this and the response has been most people would prefer a larger 2-weekend tournament favouring the February dates of           2nd 3rd 4th of Feb | 9th 10th 11th of Feb

    Come this Sunday I'll confirm the size and dates of the tournament.

    Tournament Information: Thanks for most of the thread format from previous tournaments xoxo 

    General Infomation

    • Sign up will be done via google forms (link above) If you need to changes or need to drop out of the tournament msg me directly this hopefully will it easier to manage.
    • Commitment, Please ensure you are available before signing up for this event. There will be no more than 3 games maximum per night which will be dated as soon as we confirm numbers. This is an OB event and failure to comply with event host expectations can result in punishments.    
    • Current possible tournament dates being looked at are:
      26th 27th 28th of Jan | 2nd 3rd 4th of Feb | 9th 10th 11th of Feb
      A rough guide to the schedule is below;      
      Friday: 18.30 BST - 22.30 BST 
      Saturday: 18.30 BST - 22.30 BST
      Sunday: 18.30 BST - 22.30 BST
    • Players will only participate for one team in the tournament.
    • Players must use the account name that they register for the tournament with.
    • Players must be able to participate in tournament draft to compete.
    • On registering you will be asked to name your role preferences, fill this in seriously or you will not be allowed to compete in the tournament. Note that your preferences do not guarantee what role you will be placed in. The role choices are ADC/Support/Middle/Top/Jungle.
    • Once the teams have been decided, I will then create a battlefy tournament much like the previous League tournament which should provide stats and give a more detailed schedule. 

    Team Management

    • Each team will have 5 players. Players will be expected to be available and turn up for every game scheduled.
    • Teams will be picked based on the sign-up list by selected captains prior to the event date, more information will be provided on captains in time.
    • Captains will be responsible for organizing their team including roles, required screenshots and contacting hosts if assistance is required.
    • Screenshots should be taken by captains of the pick & ban phase and the after game score screen. The system should automatically register results but screenshots are required in case of possible issues.

    Tournament Layout

    • Server: EUW
    • Game Mode: Tournament Draft
    • Map: Summoners Rift (5v5)
    • More information will be added on tournament format depending upon the number of players competing.

    Violation of Rules

    • All players are expected to follow the rules, failure to follow the rules and respect staff members can result in disqualification among other repercussions.
    • All player are expected to read all provided information and stay up to date with any tournament changes. 
    • Usual OB Tournament rules apply.

    Schedule

    Current possible tournament dates being looked at are: 26th 27th 28th of Jan | 2nd 3rd 4th of Feb | 9th 10th 11th of Feb   

    Friday 18.30 BST - 22.30 BST 
    Saturday 18.30 BST - 22.30 BST
    Sunday 18.30 BST - 22.30 BST

    *Above is a rough estimate of times you should be available for.
    **Exact times of match schedule will be confirmed once player signup count and teams are confirmed. 

     

    I would like to get as many games streamed with casters so when signing up please click either Streamer or Caster if you'd like to get involved with this.

    The purpose of this thread is to serve as a Q&A section if you have any queries and also for us to fill you in on any important updates. As this is a tournament, the stance on not turning up for this if you sign up is rigid and will result in severe punishments if you fail to show - so please make sure you are available before signing up.

    Hey Everyone,

    As this festive time of the year comes around I want give everyone an update on Outbreak.

    - Jailbreak Opening

    As many of you have already noticed Jailbreak is currently open for everyone! It's still in a BETA state as there are still a few issues that are popping up but most of it is working and needs to be playtested by our community. If you have any questions, suggestions or requests. Please visit the Jailbreak Section on our forums and make a post there. 

    - Mod Apps Open

    I'm going to be opening Mod Apps of this December to see who gets involved in our latest refresh of the Jailbreak Server, So I'll be ideally looking for people who are committing a good amount of their time to JB. Those that are helping out with giving suggestions or that are trying to create a positive and fun environment on the server for everyone will be looked at positively.    

    - Secret Santa

    Secret Santa is still open visit here if you would like to get involved. It's a good way to show your community spirit during this festive season. I'll be drawing names on the 18th December so you have up until then to join. If you do get involved please make sure you read the thread thoroughly, Thanks! :santa:  

    - Donation System 

    I've lowered the prices of our monthly/tri-monthly packages down to £4.99 and £11.99 and VIP will be going on sale to £40 until the 25th of December. Hopefully, we get some festive feeling people to donating to the server over this Christmas period as donations help keep the community and our servers alive.

    - Looking forward 

    Current plans for the futures are to keep improving Jailbreak and its atmosphere so like to see as many boys in blue helping out with this :ok:January should be eventful as our Winter tournaments for both CSGO and League of Legends are planned for then. Anyway thanks to those who spent time reading time and everyone that tries to help out our community. :y:

    Welcome to this year's Secret Santa!

    Just like last year there are a few rules

    So please read them before signing up

    You MUST be a Member, Veteran or be approved by me. If you'd like to take part and you aren't yet a member, apply now! You'll still have to trial, so do it early.

    You must spend between 7 and 15 pounds. Please don't go under as it's cheap, and don't go over because not everyone is made of wonga. Christmas is expensive enough as it is.

    If you sign up, you must at least make a wishlist so your secret Santa has a rough idea of what to get you!

    If you sign up, you MUST deliver. Failing to deliver could put your membership or any status in OB at risk.

    It'll be their Job to manage the game server for Outbreak although they would not be fully part of the admin team and would have a separate section on the forums however it would be a role where they could be promoted into the admin team as a whole.

    I personally want it kept separate from the admin team as I see a "Warden" at the start at least to only be responsible for their project.
    However, I can see a successful "warden" being promoted into the admin team as a whole if they so want it, it would mean they would have more responsibilities outside of their managed server.

     

    Not sure Wardens don't pay for the server although as mention on the application page, See Here

    • Game Server Ideas that can not be done on our Linux server or if a Member+ wishes to create a separate game server would have to be discussed individually.

    I'll add the chatbox back with these rules on a trial bases however if it just becomes a toxic mess it'll end up being removed so let's hope that doesn't happen. It'll have a separate page for it and it'll be a Donator/Member+ perk.

    @gaffeR Nothing much has been done as there wasn't too much interest from the community to do a single community game server at least from the "Hey Outbreak" thread no really seemed to an idea/server that everyone wanted to see OB do. It's why throughout the entire summer, I focused on Events like OB Rocket league, ESL Summer and Lol Summer Championship which had a good amount of success. But if there is something you want the community to actually do please suggest it, so many people want OB to do something but no really says what they want us to actually do, Hell one of your suggestions Gaff was to just wait for a PUBG Custom Servers :hmm: 

    For JB I've been working on it when I've had time although I'm trying to look for ways to improve it for both new and old players however without removing the OB Style and changing to fit a more "plugin-based" JB, there isn't too much changed and I think it'll end up dying again which is one of the reasons I've held off just throwing it out again. And it'll probably only entertain the most of the old JB players for a month before it just creates a new generation :banter: Which doesn't really do much majority of OB Members, which I've been trying to look for something that can give everyone a bit of entertainment.  

    It's also why I've tried to give access / create a way for people to give an idea through the Warden Programme. As there are a few things that people say they'd like to see from OB yet I have doubt that it'll be successful as an OB Community Server but I wanted to create a way for members+ to actually give more involved and create something with OB. There honestly aren't many game server we can create that would actually work for everyone. The biggest games currently being played in our community are the likes of PUBG, League with few people playing CSGO - Though with CSGO most play the Competitive side or small amount of various custom game modes.

    Kai has recently been working on his Warden Project and I've helped out where I can but we're yet to really announce it or talk much about it until everything it 99% much done, I prefer to announce things this way as previous whenever OB works on anything as if there are delays or something talking a bit more time there always seems quite a few negative comments that don't really help anyone and usually demotivate the person more than anything else.

    To the shoutbox, I've left the shoutbox thread as it is honestly 100% less cancerous than the original old front page and although the old chat box was used by some people for a general chat/ bit of banter, There was quite a few that took it too far. Whether it was just a baiting or whatever some of the content was just shit talking each other or posting NSFW shit and it seemed to just be getting more toxic. I originally thought we'd keep it under a different area for Member+ but we spoke about it the consensus was that we thought the content wouldn't change it probably continue to get worse and I didn't want to just read toxic content from the members that I'd like to think to represent the community nor did I want to create an area where people the rules are different and they can be as toxic as they want. And to anyone that says "Add it to contain the aids" Let's be honest, it wouldn't contain anything more likely it spread everywhere else.
