    3. Would you join an OB Discord if we had one along side Teamspeak?
I don't understand why OB would need both teamspeak and discord? There's nothing wrong with teamspeak in my opinion. I see no reason for OB to change from TS to discord at the moment.

Yes weed isn't good for you but saying it's as harmful as you made it out to be just goes a bit too far imo.
If you use it in moderation (i.e. in the evening when you just want to chill and watch a movie) and don't become a wake and bake person, there's no real "harm" that it causes. This is especially true when you compare it to other legal drugs such as alcohol and tobacco, which have a much worse impact on your physical health.
Your personal opinion of weed has clearly been influenced by some bad experiences, which as you stated consisted of heavy use. I have personally been through stages where I smoked quite a lot, and yes I did feel it had a harmful impact on my life. Since then I smoke only in the evening when I got all of my tasks for the day done and I don't need to be productive anymore.
You have to look at the problem of legalisation objectively. Do the harms of legalisation outweigh the benefits?
I don't want to make this post too long so I won't list all my arguments, but I want to leave you with this:
I believe all drugs no mater how harmful to ones person should be legalised.
If someone in the UK wants to buy heroine, cocaine, fentanyl, etc. they can. Drugs are now more accessible and cheaper than they have ever been. The war on drug has failed and any money and time spent towards has been and will continue to be a huge waste of resources. If there's demand for something there will be supply, that is just simple economics. Governments around the world continue to tackle the problem by restricting supply, but that strategy has failed and instead I think we should focus on tackling the demand side instead. Therefore, I believe we should legalise and regulate all drugs. This would ensure that all drugs are not laced with something else as most drug deaths are caused by the drug dealers lacing drugs with harmful substance or users not knowing how to be safe while taking these subsatnces. The tax money can also be used to inform and help those addicted to the substances. This has been shown to drive down drug use significantly (i.e. anti-tobacco campaign in the U.S.) .
I know what your argument will be 'legalisation will increase the use of drugs', but evidence actually suggests otherwise. Not only will children have a harder time obtaining drugs, cannabis legalisation in Colorado has actually lead to a decrease in cannabis smokers (Source).

Tl;dr - prohibition doesn't work, only solution is legalisation of all drugs with a strong information and support campaign

I also forgot to add that CS:GO now uses a hidden karma system which will match you with players based on your behavior both on Steam and in-game. I guess this counts in factors such as community bans, forum bans, reports and so on. Valve haven't specified the Steam-side of the karma system yet.
Though, the in-game system supposedly reads every line of text you post in-game and you supposedly lose karma for using specific words. Hate to tell you (childish and toxic) folks but it was said that saying "ez" at the end of the game supposedly lowers your karma significantly! The karma system also takes in reports to each player. For example, players who get reported often for suspicion of cheating will be more likely to be matched with each other. Players who are reported or griefing, verbal abuse, etc etc are more likely to be matched together.
I've wanted the karma system for a long time and I hope it turns out well.

I have a feeling that Microsoft will buy Discord and use it as a consumer Skype replacement, then add it to the latest build of Windows 10.

For enterprise they have a software called Microsoft Teams which is due to be the re-brand for Skype for Business soon:

This is some Trump level thinking.
Full Burqa's should be banned. You could literally hide so many things under a burqa, you don't know if it's Sara that nice Muslim lady or Matas the Kiddy Strummer.
Trump being president was the better outcome, hopefully the democrats will sort their shit out and act as a warning for other political parties.
    Thunder was the best mod.

Thanks to all the people who came and playtested. Sir_Conchobong and I have started adding new plugins and I am currently working on a new map to add, I don't have an exact date for when the server will be open properly, but it will not be too long. I will tell you all what changes have been made since playtesting when the server is officially opened.

If anyone would like to generously lend their help and playtest the server for me, you will be able to do so later. I will reply to this thread with the IP and password for the server later today.

To anyone who has helped me to playtest the server before this time, you may have to delete your .bsp files for the following maps: br_slopes_ob, br_flood_ob, br_killzones_ob and br_electrified_ob.
If you didn't know, your .bsp files are located here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Counter-Strike Global Offensive\csgo\maps

Didn't really want to make a thread here but I don't really see myself being able to be around anymore to properly say goodbyes, also forgot to make a thread in the admin section and couldn't make the meeting due to work.
So I finally decided to step down today after being an admin for over 2.5 years - (grats to Conor for still going on) . The main reason being it's not really fair to stay as an admin when I am not even around anymore and on top of that, I simply don't have the time and just busy with life really.
Anyway, I guess, if anything, the "behind the scenes" meme describes me the most as I was stuck as a admin 95% of my time here - over half my posts are probably in the admin section. Although I wish I could spend more time on OB just as a regular member, I had no reason to step down until now. It was fun making the LR activated sound like the queen, working my way up from blue to yellow and spending months "behind the scene" on the new landing page among other things. Non-admin stuff like meetups, gathers and taking part in league/csgo tournaments and popping people's heads off was fun too. I hope we get to do that more in the future @admins please.
Also a shoutout to my best mate in OB, Conor, for still keeping OB stable and dealing with all the shit - working closely with him have taught me a lot of things.
I probably wont be around anymore, at least like I used to be, due to my uni work placement - but I am definitely not jumping ship. See you in the next tournament.

    @Sir_Conor
I appreciate the response. Although I feel like it kind of ignores the main subject of my original post.
This isn't about what OB is up to. It's what OB is planning on doing to retain and grow for the future. I think you've avoided the difficult subject: the staff and what they think should happen. What you've written is similar to what we should expect for a monthly update. I'm glad to see it, but it isn't an appropriate response to this discussion I don't think.
If Kai is getting on with the warden programme, why hasn't he made a post to explain it? Why is it you that makes these announcements?
What is the real reason you won't elect someone to help you? Don't ignore it, just tell us why. I'm also slightly aggravated by your need to have a meeting with Gunstar just before you made that post. Do you still have someone else doing that for you? Why isn't that person your equal?
What are the other mods doing? Why aren't they trusted to have meaningful permissions on the teamspeak server. If there's people in that team you can't trust with that privilege, then get rid. I feel like there's a lot of people willing to help you out. But you like to sit at the top of the pyramid and have the final say. You haven't made an effort to prove that otherwise with your last post whatsoever.
The shoutbox thread just sort of happened. Everyone on edge wondering if you were going to delete it or ban people for doing it. If it can exist in a thread, then why not make it a permanent fixture somewhere on the forum. Does it have to be on the homepage? Maybe create another section for it.
Your last reply was very political. You've told us what you wanted to tell, but ignored the original concerns which are shared by a large number of members who chose to be a part of the community. If there was a general election coming up, you'd look like a very unpopular candidate right now.

I never wanted to make this thread. But the time has come.
Outbreak has reached a stage of stagnation from which it may never recover from. Most people don't even care, and I have to say that I am for once somewhat empathetic to that thought.
What do we realistically have right now?
A forum and a TeamSpeak server. These forums are like the town's favourite pub that was boarded up before everyone left town because of a nuclear scare. Times were once enjoyed there, jovial evenings spent socialising and having a drink. Memories made, and a constant supply of enthusiasm and cooperative goodwill. We are now so far from where we once were that radical action is needed to turn this place around. We are heading for the edge of the cliff in a clapped out Mercedes Benz with 210,000 miles on the clock, it failed it's last MOT and the brake fluid lines are leaking on what is left of the disc brakes. We are heading there quickly. Power steering not working, throttle cable rusted at max and gearbox stuck in 4th.
Once again, this community only really exists on TeamSpeak. It is clear that simple changes that the majority wants will ever happen. Several attempts have been made to get the shout box back, yet these are ignored by the only person who actually had access to make that change. Why doesn't anyone else have access? That is a top post on /r/hmm indeed.
The leadership needs to be shared to prevent this from happening. One person in charge clearly isn't working. Too much pressure and not enough support. Every decision you make as an INDIVIDUAL for this community is open to criticism from everyone else, with no one at your level to reassure you. I believe this has happened as a result of the way the staff have been tiered all to be below your position. You want to be the top dog. Why don't you act like it? (forum bans isn't what I mean.)
It is very easy for me to sit here and type out what the issues are. It is also very easy for people to say "yeah m8 it is a bit shit right now"... I get that. And I also get that we were given the opportunity to be a 'warden' but didn't take it. It's a hard thing to do, I personally don't think our group is in the mood for playing one particular game.
    Community etiquette:
I think it is safe to say now, that everyone in this community is legitimately disgusting. The conversations, the jokes and the blatant overuse of terms that are considered racist to some is now at an all time high. It's an interesting subject, and is one that we are all a part of. But you have to think about why it has progressed this far. I think it may be down to the staff not really giving a shit unless Conor is around. Then that's another question. Why is this? I think it's because they aren't respected by Conor. They are all below you. There isn't any real opportunity for them to grow and do their own thing without it being firstly screened by you. I'm not trying to disrespect you here. Just trying to put an answer to this question. This wasn't an issue when the mod teams HAD to ban for it. Making these remarks in private channels with friends is always going to be a thing. But the fact that the team is now taking part in it is perpetuating this trend among the younger and fresher members of this community... When the staff are doing it, it becomes mainstream. I appreciate that I may be considered a huge hypocrite talking about this, I just wanted to explore it a little bit.
    So what do we do?
    New year, new co-owner.
Pick someone to help you at your level. Give someone the same level of access as you do and make sure they are prepared for it. Unseen nearly had your level, but do you think he may have got the feeling of being undermined just a little bit?
No, I'm talking partnership. It needs to be a 50/50 split with someone YOU trust. Someone you can share this experience with and someone who can co-ordinate the lower ranks with good understanding. And no it can't be Wist.

This is the only way I see this place improving. Conor, you've been brilliant with the finance and technical ability when needed, but staffing and communication needs improving. People are noticing how this place isn't really a thing in motion anymore. We need to have a collective turnaround. Nearly 6 years. Let's make it 7.
