    F2P???
To me, this doesn't make much sense. CS:GO has always had a cheating problem. I quite often run into people with as much as 1.5k hours who are blatantly cheating (as in spin botting - wall spamming) - not just people I suspect might be.
Yes, it is more common in non-prime when I play my smurf, but no way exempt from prime matches or even premium faceit. It wasn't particularly a large barrier to spend £5 on supporter or pay £3 for a SIM-card to get premium if you wanted a better cheating experience, especially when you were already paying $10 for CS:GO itself.
My point in this is that clearly VAC isn't anywhere near perfect. It should be able to detect if you are using external software to alter the movement of your in game mouse sensor (can this really be that hard to implement) and dish out bans on the spot.
People have been angry about bumping into cheaters for ages. How does valve respond to this long-term annoyance? Makes CS:GO F2P. No posts reassuring us on the statistics of accounts VAC banned or how the anti-cheating software is at the cutting edge of technology. It's sad when FACEIT AC is literally more advanced than VAC, either that or FACEIT just care more about their players.
I guarantee you now that at least 50% of non prime matches will have cheaters in them now. It'll actually entice people who have never cheated to just try it out. You might say, who cares? Just get prime. Not really the point, why would we want our game to be like this? Anyway, every single account pre-f2p has now been made prime. What 20iq specimen decided that was a good idea? So now literally every account that has so far evaded VAC and all the sleeping cheater accounts have prime matchmaking, clap clap.
But the most illogical thing - I presume the rationale behind doing this was to bring a surplus of new players in - those who have never played the game and those who wanted to play the game but didn't want to buy it. Subsequently, valve thinks that those players would invest in the skin market and in the long-term, valve would profit from these players, despite the game being free at the time of purchase...
So let's get this straight - the hope is that those who didn't want to invest in the game monetarily are now going to spend loads of money on skins and stickers? Yeah that makes total sense. It's a big kick in the gut to the millions of us who bought the game, cool, we got some shitty badge to add to our collection of 20 badges that no one even looks at. Starting a game off as P2P and then moving it to F2P just shows the backwardness of the team at valve.
At no point when they were implementing this did someone think, hey, maybe this will make a lot of people mad and confused - considering we've ignored pressing matters like 128 tick for a while.
Oh and those new legit players who are gonna come and try CS:GO, I doubt they will instantly add their phone, the first 10-20 games they play will be against a fair few cheaters, good job.

My conclusion - Valve are going to develop and sell cutting edge cheats for CS and sell them now. Genius gabe.

Lewis got a reaction from Hobbsyy in Admin Complaint: Lewis - Non Censored cut
I'll add a serious note, no idea if spongebob memes are also grounds for an admin complaint with this specimen.
@Biggles - 'So many people' - It's literally 3 of the same oldies - You, Venga and Gaffer. As far as I'm aware, nobody else has me muted or blocked in this community. You muted me 3 years ago for wind tunnelling, and I guess trolling. I'm a much different person now, I still have my jokes, but it's not the same as before. This isn't an ask for you to un-mute me, just asking you not to assume what I'm like 3-4 years after you last spoke to me! I trust you can move on with things better in life than this.
@Mintlou - You seem to be a bit lost, let me clear up this situation as best as I can - also for any other people a bit in the dark about all of this. Conor refused to approve your post, because it added nothing further to the discussion and frankly was riddled with lies; why are you now posting it in the general chat? I know you wrote the thing, but let me just point out - your post ends with 'your call'. Yes, it is Conor's call, you're right. He made the call not to approve your post and resolved the complaint - stating that if you HAD to take it further for whatever reason, contact him on teamspeak. Going against his decision proves either:
    1) You're not satisfied until some sort of action is taken against me
    2) You have a hard time accepting things that don't go your way
The latter wouldn't surprise me with what I know of you. For this reason, I'm exerting some independent authority to give you a forum warning.
Members of the admin team and the forum guidelines themselves have laid out for you that these sort of complaints are meaningless without evidence. It doesn't even matter though, I'm a man - and I admitted to the entire team exactly what I did, as Conor told you in his post - I haven't tried to say that I did nothing 'wrong'. So no, if that's what you're thinking, I didn't downplay the situation, my story fits perfectly with what others who were present in the channel said happened. I've also taken the liberty of chatting with your potential 'testifiers' myself.

Frostie: Did not hear anything anything
Fluxy: Heard everything. He knows full well that some were by mistake, as all of my fellow mixers do. But also knows, as I stated, that some were on purpose - maximum 3-4 seconds, only 1-2 were bad. Hardly comparable to the amount of music soundboards you spam, is it?* The crux of it as he said - nothing remotely ban worthy, scraping warning worthy.
Quinn: Did not even hear anything - said the whole thing was ridiculous.
Gaffer: Has me muted, so not applicable
Venga: Has me muted, so not applicable
Weezy: From what I've heard from Fluxy, they have very similar opinions on what they heard, what's happened, and how you've decided to go about this.
Mitch: The one person I'm not sure about, will have a chat to him when I next see him. Although as he didn't say anything at all at the time, I can't think his views would be that far from Hugo+Weez.

So if that's all the 'evidence' you're bringing to this table, then I VERY strongly suggest you cease posting now. This complaint is about me, and I'm one of the one's in this team who's taking your actions here, and over the past few months leniently.
    * I found your comment so funny too. 'Bringing up people's past mistakes'. You speak like it's something you did in 2016. You LITERALLY used soundboards AFTER making a complaint about me for using mine, every single day I'm in the OG channel you use them - sometimes for up to minutes at a time. Whatever you're smoking young man, I'll have some of that after finishing this post please.
I mentioned lies too - 'I also told him to stop, and told him if he didn't, an admin complaint would be made'. The first bit is correct, you did tell me to stop. Second bit, nope. You did not say that at all. After I'd stopped, you said - 'right, I'm going to make an admin complaint'. I could fill a restaurant with the amount of people who have asked you to stop using soundboards and you've continued. It isn't really about comparisons though, it's just why every single person I've spoke to about this thinks it's ridiculous and won't take you seriously, because it's riddled with hypocrisy. I thought you were joking about an admin complaint, but no... about 10,000 words later between the 3 of us, here we are... over maximum 15 seconds combined of pirates of the Caribbean doing ya mom sounds. How fun.
Anyway, an update: I've managed to fix my microphone - people can no longer hear themselves through it; i'm just a bit quieter. This certainly won't happen again with how sensitive you've been to it. As myself and others agree, there isn't really anything wrong with soundboards, Jamie's are some of the best. But since you have SUCH a problem with it, lets make a deal together. If I use any from now on, I'll get demoted/banned or whatever - and if you use any, you'll get banned! Seems fair with how you morally stand on it right?
I've had my warning from the high council - and that's it. It was resolved 3+ posts ago. Nothing more is going to happen. As I said in my last big post on this forum, maybe it's time you found somewhere else?

Might I add, you actually blamed the effort Conor has put into this community for the reason that you and a few other ostracised OGs are moaners? Jesus, you've lost it.

Longevity is always something that has interested me.
As far as I'm aware, my Grandad (last living grandparent) is my oldest blood relative, born in Feb 1934. He's in pretty good health, and both his mother and auntie lived to their early 90s so I hope he's going to be around a fair bit longer. Surprising considering he's smoked a pipe all through adulthood and drank pretty heavily at times.
By blood relative I mean not someone who married into your family.

Lewis reacted to Kai in Outbreak Retake
Recently, a poll for Outbreak's new server was released, allowing you to vote for which server you would like to see Outbreak create, the winner, by quite a margin, was retakes.

Most of you will know what retake is, however some will not. For those who don't, retake is a CS:GO gamemode (obviously) in which the Counter-Terrorists have to retake a site from the Terorrists who have taken it. The round starts as the bomb is planted on the randomly selected site, and the CTs must take the site back and defuse the bomb.

    Features
The retake plugin allows players to choose which weapon they have, players can choose between which M4 they have, and if they would like to receive AWPs or not. Players cannot select which grenades they are given every round and they are given out to players randomly.

A leaderboard has also been added. Players are awarded points for kills, bomb plants, and bomb defusals, as well as headshots and assists. Points are deducted upon death, suicides, and failing to plant the bomb.

A store plugin has also been added to the server. Crazy items like huge hats and player models are not in, though. The only things which can be obtained through the store are masks, which were added by Valve back in 2014. Chat tags, name colours, and text colours are also obtainable through the store. Players are given 3 credits every 3 minutes while they are active on the server, it is possible to allow for players to earn credits by getting kills, which may be added.

Reserve slots will also be added to the server, allowing players to connect whenever they want to, as long as they have a reserve slot.

The option to vote for the next map is also included in the server, 5 maps will be available to vote for each time the vote appears, which will be near the end of each map.

    Maps

All 7 active duty maps, and Dust 2, are on the server. As well as the addition of these 6 new maps which are not usually seen in typical retake servers.

    Bazaar

Bazaar was featured in CS:GO during late 2014 and early 2015, in Operation Vanguard. Although not the most popular map which was added through this Operation, it is still a very good and enjoyable map which I think could have some great potential as a retake map. The A site is set in a market square, with many places which the Terrorists can use for cover to attempt to pick off attacking CTs. Whereas the B site is more open, allowing for fast paced engagements and imaginative boosts which can be used by CTs to gain the upper hand.

    Santorini

Santorini is a very popular map within the CS:GO community, however, it has never been added to the game as an official map. It has appeared in CS during Operation Wildfire in 2016, and had a spot in the main maps which were playable on ESEA and Faceit for a long while. The creator of the map, FMPONE, has also made many other amazing maps, one of which, Cache, has found it's way into the CS:GO active duty map pool. Probably because it's the best map to ever be made.

    Abbey

Abbey is a fairly new map, only being added to the workshop in late 2017. It is a stunning map in terms of looks and has very solid gameplay on it. It is known as one of, if not the best map, that has been made by Lizard, who also made Facade, which was featured in Operation Vanguard as well. I would not be surprised to see this map added to CS:GO in the next Operation, and I believe that this will be a very nice addition to the retake map pool.

    Season

Season is also a very popular map within the CS:GO community, it has had two Operation appearances, Operation Bloodhound, and Operation Vanguard. Season was originally an unofficial CS:S map which was used in a variety of professional tournaments, including CPL, CEVO, and CAL. It also received a remake to a more modern look around 2014, after the CS:S port version of the map became outdated. The creator, FMPONE, has created 7 maps for CS:GO, 5 of which have made it into Operations, and Cache which has been added to the game permanently. Season is also a popular map within ESEA and Faceit, and our own Faceit Gather Hub. I think that Season will be a great addition to the map pool for this server as it will allow the active gather players to familiarize themselves with this map and hopefully give them another enjoyable option to play on during gathers.

    Seaside

Seaside is the most popular map to appear in Operations which has not been added to the game full time. It appeared in the very first 3 Operations in CS:GO, Operation Payback, Bravo, and Phoenix. This map, for obvious reasons, can be considered a classic. A map which was added back repeatedly because of its popularity and unique style. The bomb sites are complete opposites, A site is more or less totally open and T-side AWPers will be the most powerful role on the defending side, being able to pick approaching CTs off from range. However, B site is the total opposite, it is a small, enclosed area where Ts are expected to bunker down together and use utility to drain down the bomb timer. There will often be nowhere to run to play time and T-side crossfires will reign supreme when defending the B bombsite.

    Studio

Studio is also a fairly new map, and was posted to the workshop around the same time that Abbey was. This fun new map includes a difference in sites, much like Seaside. The B site is full of cover which Terrorists can use to run down the bomb timer or to surprise incoming enemies. The A site is more open, but some boxes allow the Terrorist side to headglitch and take some more defensive engagements. The retaking Counter-Terrorists must play together, and can even use some creative boosts to have an overview of the site.

In the future, the ability to vote for different maps which you think should be included on the server will be implemented, and the least popular ones will be substituted for these more popular choices.

Thanks to everyone who helped out with the creation of this server, the selection of maps, and the server testing.

Time for Conor to stand down? Perhaps. There has been many times where we have been left in the dark in the last year and the updates we have had have always been along the lines "We're trying a server soon but we just have to set it up". This always feels like a lame excuse because game servers can litterally be set up in a day - of course custom content may take a little longer but I don't think it is always necessary. Sometimes it's best to get out an alpha that everyone can enjoy and then build up unique content later on which will be more appreciated at that point.

Does this mean Conor should stand down? Not necessarily but I do think a shake up in how the community is moderated is.
The mod team need to be more open with players in the community. Even if there is little to no update it would be nice to see a newspost letting us know this and we no longer feel left out in the dark.
The mod team need to have clear activity on all platforms we are spread across to pick up all the suggestions and give feedback about them. I feel this is particularly crucial on the forums but currently is terrible whether it is in a thread or direct message. There have been plenty of big conversations set up such as Is OB Dead? that could have been settled with 1 comment to address concerns within the thread. This just needs to be from someone high up such as the Owner or an Admin. I have also had various issues with direct messages to the higher ups, I wonder if anyone else has had these? For example when I originally send the link to my Jailbreak map Soar it took well over a month and multiple push messages to get it on the server.
The mod team need to be more brave when it comes to new ideas. There are always players that push back on ideas but even with the unsuccessful ideas a lesson is learnt and the community grows. Players are always scared that their stable environment is going to die but since I've joined OB the only times where we have died out is when we have performed no action to try and advance. I know because I have been this type of player when the original JB server collapsed. The community was pretty dead until we tried GMod DarkRP. This was a suprisingly fun experience and is a key turning point that lead us back to Jailbreak only this time in CSGO, of which most the community now comes from.

Do we need more moderators to do this? At the moment we have a small amount of moderators since there are no large servers to moderate. This seems fine but when we are in such a stagnant state the moderators will sit happy in their position of power but will not take action for the community to move forward. I think a more active group would suit the communities needs more and I appreciate that @Lewis has taken the time to apply for moderator as I think he has the potential to be just this. It would be great to see some of the currently active players applying for this too instead of just complaining in every thread.

I still think minigames is the best option. A lot of variety in regards to maps and content - you can have surf on it too.
It was probably our most popular server that's been tried in the last few years. I think it'd also be the most popular amongst our current member base.
Perhaps we still have the maps storred up so it wouldn't be hard to get going? I'd be willing to put in 1-2 hours a day modding it or just playing it.
