Kills are important but impact frags are still a thing and people can win their team games even when they have 10 kills in 30 rounds. Like @w33zy said, people will bait for kills, which some people do already even though there is no reward for doing it, it is just some people’s playstyle. I feel like 1v1s would be the closest you can get to comparing the 2 players’ skill levels. Unless you had a bunch of people who weren’t going to be bias towards one person and they would all review both players demos, stats and teamplay, and vote on which of the 2 they think is better, but that’s probably not going to happen. A 1v1 also gives people who played good most of the season a chance, and actually forces the people who fluke up to the top of the leaderboard, to prove how good they are.

    But someone could be the worst team player but is the best 1v1 player and its unfair if the person he's against is not as good but a really good team player
