Every year we would go to our Grandma's house and celebrate Christmas there. Now since there are 2 more families I get to see my close cousins, aunts, and uncles. We usually have a theme like last time I was there the theme was "Pajamas". Everyone would be in pajamas and we just chill with each other. So knowing that Texas only goes down a few degrees which is barely cold, my cousins and I would go outside and play some basketball or American Football. Once it is late we go in and eat some leftover turkey from Thanksgiving or we each some Mexican food as my grandma was a very good cook. Once it turns 12 am we all give thanks to each other and compliment each other and we open our presents. Usually, the youngest kids go first and once they are done everyone opens up. Then we all eat Tamales (Pigs in Blanket) and sleep.
 
This year though im just going to be in London and visit places ooh 

Working night shifts every day until christmas eve. Then imma sit my ass on new PC and nolife it. Will also have a family dinner.

Fair point. It appears we both have a very different meaning of "community".
To me, a community was when OB was in it's prime. When we had a very popular, functioning server that people from all over the world would join and have a good time on. Teamspeak filled with new, interesting faces. Forums where everyone could express themselves and share new things. A community for me is what OB used to be like when I joined it. Now that the server does not exist, TS consists of the same people every day and the Forums are a joke, I don't consider it a community anymore.
Now it's just the Original group of friends who have known each other for a very long time, who have been there since the beginning, and a few randoms who decided to stay after the death of the server. And if you consider that to be a community, very well then. That is your opinion and I have nothing against it. Hope you have a good day Jak.

What you’ve described is a trend. All the “cool kids” jump on a trend when it’s convenient, but bail as soon as the next cool thing comes along. Those people that remain behind are the people who really hold together, those are the people who make a community. Look at anything from the skate scene to punk to dubstep to film photography to tattoos. There are always folks who come and go, and then there are always folks who actually, really, properly enjoy what’s going on. OB is full of people who care about the other people here, whether that’s on a “thriving” JB server or a TS server where a core group of 10-15 people have meaningful conversations with each other every single day.
 
If you don’t enjoy that, cool, good for you, enjoy your next trend. Ciao. We’ll be here being invited to weddings, hanging out in person, talking through serious personal issues, making life long bonds with people who are genuinely interested about each other’s lives and feelings. That’s a fucking community, pal, and I for one am damn glad to be a part of what this is.

Who cares about people they’ve never interacted with or don’t like? Certainly not me. To me, the OB community consists of the OGs and that shits still as strong as ever.
Imagine going to the pub with a group of old mates and going “we never play hide and seek anymore, what’s the point in hanging out? We never advertise for new friends anymore, we’re dying. I don’t want to hang out with you guys anymore because you’ve just been drinking beer for the past few years, and we should be having Long Island iced teas and flaming moes and trying this new shot in a test tube I saw in a night club last month”.
If you don’t feel a sense of community here, that’s probably because you’re not really a part of it.
