UnSeen got a reaction from Fluxy in ESL Outbreak Spring 2017 - 07/04 - 09/04
Reminder in case any of you somehow forgot :^)
First sets of games are tonight! These are the matches below (full timetable found on first page):
    ♦ Friday 7th April
    6PM BST
    - Team 2 vs Team 4
    - Team 7 vs Team 8
      7PM BST
    - Team 2 vs Team 7
    - Team 4 vs Team 8
      9PM BST
    - Team 1 vs Team 3
    - Team 5 vs Team 6
      10PM BST
    - Team 1 vs Team 5
    - Team 3 vs Team 6  I expect teams to be ready and in their TS channel at least 10 minutes before when their match is supposed to start.
No teams have actually come together to decide a team name it seems, so let me know if that changes some time before the first match or you're stuck with 'Team x'.
Good luck everyone. Let's try to enjoy some OB CS rather than QQ too much

    Reminder for tonight's games:
    ♦ Saturday 8th April
    6PM BST
    - Team 2 vs Team 8
    - Team 4 vs Team 7

    - Team 1 vs Team 6
    - Team 3 vs Team 5
      7PM BST
    - Semifinal 1 (BO1): Winner Group A vs Runner Up Group B
    - Semifinal 2 (BO1): Winner Group B vs Runner Up Group A I understand there is one match that is somewhat inconsequential but, in response to the 3 people poking me last night, no you cannot forfeit it. You sign up to see the tournament through and you play it out as part of that commitment and out of courtesy even if you can no longer win. There's a chance that one person might want to play and by signing up you were guaranteed 3 games at least, so you will play them. At the end of the day it just means you can have fun with that game as there is none of that 'OB edgy tournament pressure' that we seem to create for ourselves despite it basically being gathers (don't get me wrong, it's not a bad thing - but still). This doesn't mean to say I will tolerate just team killing or flat out trolling, but I see no problem in maybe pulling silly strats or however else you wish to play it.
The results as they stand at the moment:

    Hi guys
For the people who are interested (there maybe some) I am going to leave a link to my dissertation here so people can read it if they want. If you were involved with the project, are interesting in video gaming and it's affects it could have on you or are maybe going to be writing a dissertation of your own soon and this could be a handy template.

    Tbh Mike, I completely agree.
Bitching out of a commitment you signed up to due to petty feelings constitutes as being a pussy imo.
Being cocky about it on a public event page though, that constitutes being a twat.

People saying it's gone wrong when tournament not even started yet
People were saying similar comments and chatting shit before last tournament, which was realistically the most fair tournament we've had to date
People QQ'ing about mine and Lewis' knowledge of people's ability as if we've never played CS, we're completely clueless and we haven't done this before
I'm not saying the teams are gonna be perfect, they can never can be perfect realistically as someone has to win and you just do the best you can to provide a mixed bag of teams with different people to previous tournaments to make it as competitive as possible. I'm also not saying me and Lewis are the best team pickers or most knowledgeable compared to some others, but to act as if we're completely clueless and inept because our choices would have differed to yours and whine as if you would be the almighty event saviour is just pathetic imo.
Strogglok quit not because of the ability of players, but because he personally has a problem with them. I personally find it petty but he's made that choice and will face the punishments for it.
Also on paper my team is probably the weakest, but don't see any of the godseen's team qq'ing
also nt Danny it's past 12, you can't pull that wool over my eyes xoxo

Good luck to all the teams.
It's not the first time I have seen someone quit because of team mates. Of course you might have a lot of reasons to do so if you really don't get on with someone, however, sometimes you just gotta be the bigger man and deal with it. You will inevitably be in situations like this in the future, whether it's as part of a team online or work colleagues/neighbours, but running away from it is not the solution. Being in a team with people you don't get on with is a good opportunity to improve yourself for similar situations like those. I am not targeting you specifically Strogg, but to everyone in general. People who have experienced this before will know what I am talking about.
Anyway, this thread is about ESL, so let's get back on topic. I am gonna root for Team 7 because it would be nice to see unseen finally get out of group stage and not get sprayed down through smoke for one tournament.

Strogglok indefinitely replaced with @w33zy in team 6 - apologies chus and lion for all these changes to your team
Strogglok has decided to quit the competition after seeing his teammates and will be banned from these tournaments for the extensive future as long as I help run them.

UnSeen got a reaction from ҉NuclearGamer in March Update 2017
    Hola mis amigos
Been a while since the last update due to the busy and quiet nature meaning there wasn't much to post about last month, but hopefully things now are being kicked back into gear and the updates will keep coming.

    - New Staff
First off we'd like to welcome the following individuals to the moderator team:
    - Fxden
    - Cereal
    - Quake
    - Twiixtor
Congratulations to the three new bloods and welcome back to Twiixtor. Moderator apps will be closing soon.

    - Adios
Continuing on from last update, we had a few more people stepping away from staff ranks. So to the following individuals:
    - Substick
    - Pepe
    - Brandon
    - Daffy
    - Weezy
    - Rory
    - Pasickle
We'd like to say a massive thank you all for the time you put into the community. Most of you are still present in our community and will continue to help out where you can we're sure, but taking on the responsibility as part of staff often puts you in a spot with others that isn't always easy to deal with. Although keeping the staff fresh and active is important, having individuals who have been in a similar role in the past as part of our core memberbase can only continue to make our core community stronger. There would be more I would like to say about each person individually but I hope I was able to bring that appreciation across to them directly at the time, so this is to just provide some recognition for them all.

    - ESL Outbreak Spring Tournament
We have the next Outbreak CSGO tournament coming up during the Easter holidays. The post will be up sometime in the next few days so make sure to look out for it if you want to get in on OB's seasonal competitive action. We intend for this to take a similar style to the most recent Winter tournament.

    - Awards
As mentioned in the last update, awards are on their way. There will be a variety of awards to recognise a wide range of achievements. For the time being the main awards being awarded for you to see are victory trophies for victors of Outbreak's tournaments, however we have many more to come and are open to reasonable suggestions for future awards.
Below are screenshots of Rachel's awards to provide an example:

If you have any questions about anything, make sure to ask. I'm sure there'll be more to come in coming updates, among the busy times

    Planned Server Maintenance
Tomorrow 31/03/17, I'll be performing some server maintenance. All of our servers will be offline for a few hours and will gradually come back online. All of our servers should be fully online by the evening however I'm going to try to get it done quite quickly. I'm going to get Teamspeak up first so you can at least chat to each other and then gradually bring the rest online. When the servers are back up you probably won't notice much difference but I'm aiming to fix quite a few back-end issues.
    Thanks

    Monthly Awards
-These could be removed after a month from the persons profile, or stay with a date reminder - e.g June 2016. Depends how clustered you think it'd get. If you only decided to institute one of the below, it'd only be 12 awards a year, ideally spread out over several people. If you didn't want to keep these awards visible each year they could either be removed from immediate visibility and placed on the players profile - possible? Or change them to a half yearly thing.
Member of the month - Speaks for itself Moderator of the month - " " Forumer of the month - Hopefully would encourage enlightening threads and increased activity. Could be due to a popular thread, a good suggestion or just purely a mad amount of helpful forum activity. Prison Breaker of the month - Doesn't have to be most hours, can be taken many ways. A new member fitting in, exceptional rebelling, good mod decisions, helping new players, innovative wardening. Newbie of the month - Something for new players to strive for once entering the community, or after acceptance to membership.
    Unspecific Awards Subject to Opinion
Lifetime Service - Given to recognise long term commitment to the community. Event Exceptionale v1 - An award to recognise event hosting contribution. Certain amount of events hosted, or other determinants.  Event Exceptionale v2 - An award to recognise an individuals commitment to events. May have attended 10+ in a row, may be recognised by admins as always on time, always following commands, helping things consistently run smoothly over multiple events. Event of the year - Individual was part of a team who hosted the community-chosen event of the year Moderator of the year - Conor+Unseen short list to 3 people they think deserve the title. Community then votes for their preference. Initial phase allows for the legitimate candidates to have their deserved chance, not just the older, more community-popular ones. Best CS Frag movie of the year - We get a lot of these posted, perhaps another community vote after shortlisted by a non-biased, experienced bunch for the best youtube movie made by a community member.
    Other Awards
1 Year Membership - For 365 days of consistent membership, without dissenting into regular status. Could possibly do for 2-3 years.  1 Year Moderatorship - Same concept as above Donning Donator - Indicates a user who has donated a certain amount you deem worthy of recognition. Perhaps beyond the VIP usergroup quantity, as that already exists. Also easier to see as an immediate badge. Jailbreak King - An award for the most hours spent on Jailbreak over a (3 month OR 6 month OR 1 year period) 5+ 10+ 15+ Events Won - Up to you how far back you'd want to go to start counting winners, and would obviously continue, would be willing to help here. No sleep - Award given to the user who's spent the most minutes in a day on jailbreak. Easily done by gametracker, but maybe you can't distinguish between the idlespec hours and the actual active hours :/ I Gather I - Award given to the user with the most OB gathers on popflash in the last 31 days. Award doesn't change each month, stays until record is broken. Oldest Member - Individual is the oldest member in the community (age wise - not time spent in the community) Individual Event Winner - When an event is purely an individual one, that gets recognised as a badge. 'Individual won April 2018 Deathrun'. No recognition for team events, but they can contribute to the number of events won badge.

Here are some of the badges we are already looking to implement
Introduce Yourself - user has made an introduction thread. ESL ONE Outbreak 2015 Winner - User was part of the team, 'Channing Taters', that won the ESL ONE Outbreak 2015 CS:GO tournament. ESL Outbreak Summer 2016 Winner - User was part of the team, 'Krisstian Dragon's Stiqqy Ikky Asian Balls', that won the ESL Outbreak Summer 2016 CS:GO tournament. ESL Outbreak Winter 2016 Winner - User was part of the team, 'Deletin' Yo Threads', that won the ESL Outbreak Winter 2016 CS:GO tournament. Outbreak League of Legends Championship 2016 Winner - user won the 2016 LoL tournament Hearthstone Tournament 2017 Winner - user won the 2017 Hearthstone tournament Member - user has become a member (award kept when membership lost, unless lost due to behaviour/rule break) 1 Year of Membership - user has had membership for 1 year or longer 2 Years of Membership - user has had membership for 2 years or longer 3 Years of Membership - user has had membership for 3 years or longer 4 Years of Membership - user has had membership for 4 years or longer Testing - user has helped staff by being part of a testing process of some form tbc Honour! - user has been given their first reputation Staff - user has been part of the Outbreak staff team Active Donator - user is an active donator (badge used to differentiate from inactive donators for event priority) VIP - user is a VIP MOTD - Mod of the month There is also a few more that I cant remember Ideally I originally wanted a few opinionated awards like member of the month etc but not sure if people would vote seriously if we do by community vote and if we did by me and unseen /admin team can already see many people disagreeing with us as alot of people only think from there point of view...
With the introduction thread and first reputations one it would be put into a newbie(think steam badge for community award?)
Overall some of these are good, the biggest promble with these awards ATM is that I want them at a high quality which takes time to do each badge so if anyone wants to try and help out message me

Please ensure you are on TS and ready 10 minutes before any of your matches on the day. We understand it may appear that the teams are of a slightly lower standard, however this is due to the spread out nature of the teams as we pushed for 8 teams rather than the previous 6. Some individuals were made reserve due to numbers, and were picked out either due to balancing or simply for being later to sign up. Sorry for any who miss out, however if you are still interested in being a sub/reserve if needed please keep in the tournament loop. If you decide a name as your team, please let us know and we can swap it for the numbers. Any questions please take them to myself or Lewis. Edit: Thread will now be unlocked for discussion about the tournament, any reserve sign ups should still be taken to the calendar page though.

After a passionate and intense date night, OB's couples laid down their arms exhausted. It was clear that many of these relationships simply would not work out, however maybe there was a spark of hope to look forward to in those who had triumphed together.
    TEAM SCORES
    Team 1 - Raw & ZakTEF - 10 points Team 2 - BIBS & GingerPopper - 4 points Team 3 - Twiixtor & Weezy - 11 points Team 4 - Danny & Irish - 0 points Team 5 - Nick & Absolute - 3 points Team 6 - Toby & Nuclear - 10 points Team 7 - Thunder & JME - 11 points Team 8 - Future & Joey - 4 points Team 9 - Gerald & Strogglok - 3 points Team 10 - Cereal & Joji - 5 points Team 11 - Rhyse & Extinct - 1 point Team 12 - Brandon & Sovman - 1 point Meaning the overall winners were:
Team 3: Twiixtor & Weezy  AND  Team 7: Thunder & JME
Players will be awarded 1000 credits each.
    MVP WINNER
The individual with the most score total: Sovman
He will also be awarded 1000 credits.
Thanks to all who turned up. A few of the things we didn't expect included the colour plugin reset on freeze, the people being force swapped to CT and the slight fps drop on second map - but otherwise I hope the event wasn't so bad and that you guys enjoyed it.

My only comment would be is that some of you could have a bit more tact in the way you handle yourselves, ik some of you mean nothing by it or some of you are just meme'ing - but even if the event goes on a bit (which I admit it could have had a couple less rounds), asking 'can I go yet' in an exasperated, whiny voice is a bit scumbag considering people are giving up time to try run this for you.
Nonetheless, thanks once again for showing, any constructive criticism is welcome xo

After a passionate and intense date night, OB's couples laid down their arms exhausted. It was clear that many of these relationships simply would not work out, however maybe there was a spark of hope to look forward to in those who had triumphed together.

Team 3: Twiixtor & Weezy  AND  Team 7: Thunder & JME

Look here, I was able to find out who I had forgotten within 2 minutes thanks to just posting it anyway + at least I took 2-3 minutes to post results rather than 2-3 days like some people
