Kartoffel 55 Posted September 20, 2015 Most of you have probably seen the Outbreak in 2016 thread already. We are looking on opening a new server next year, and now we're asking you what kind of server you would like to see Outbreak host. This doesn't necessarily have to be a CS:GO server, we're open for different things and different game modes. If you have any ideas that you want to share please discuss it here. Skeff 289 Posted September 20, 2015 If I'm honest I've seen the effects adding a new server can have on OB a few times and I'm unsure if it is the best solution. Despite that I've had a think about different CSGO game modes and I think the best thing we can do is to have a well varied selection of maps on the server. Minigames could be the best vessel for this because minigames vary from specific maps, multigame maps to course maps, it's just unfortunate there isn't really many surf courses in minigames. I just worry it'll come to the same fate as the last server. I am quite attached to surf and as for other games I'd love a TF2 server however I imagine it's hard to establish a popular one, especially seeing as quite a few OB players are TF2-a-phobes. Also I remember the old prop hunt server we all played back in CSS, that was really fun however if I remember it got repetitive after a while and everyone learnt the maps so I imagine it wouldn't say for long. Blyss 975 Posted September 21, 2015 Prop hunt would be really fun but as Skeff said it would also get repetitive after a while. I think TTT would be worth a shot. It's fun, different and could attract a lot of players easily. Other stuff to think about would be CS GO HG(not sure about its popularity) , Mini games and maybe surf. Jamie 2,319 Posted September 21, 2015 Man fuck gmod, honestly. I still think we shouldn't branch to another game just yet simply because having freshers coming in to the community, we want people to at least have some common interests (namely, csgo) it will bring people closer together. Stick with a csgo server while we are still expanding, preferably a gamemode where people are likely to socialise (so shit like deathmatch or surf will be unlikely). Minigames as far as i know is difficult to populate but if pulled off well, will bring good things to OB. Quote Share this post Link to post
Simon 7 Posted September 21, 2015 I haven't seen many MultiMod(Or MultiMode) servers of CS:GO till now <(^_^)>. For someone who doesn't know it is a server with many Mods like Jailbreak(Of course it won't be included in the server), Surf, Prop Hunt, Hide n' Seek, DeathRun etc. all put together in an organized way. You may remember those from CS 1.6 :glad2: This way more people who play other mods except JailBreak can come to know about Community and those who got bored of JailBreak can have fun here. I am actually handling a MultiMod CS:GO server in India at the moment and it has gone up to rank 600 in Gametracker in its first month. My other choice would be a Surf RPG server, or Surf RPG + Skill Surf Server. Quote Share this post Link to post
Substick 163 Posted September 21, 2015 I think something like Surf RPG would be an awesome idea :D, used to have loads of fun playing on those servers in CSS :D. A Warcraft Source server is also pretty cool, though my old community had one of those, and although it was popular once upon a time, it eventually had to be shut down due to the insane amount of activity needed by the people in charge of the server, updates used to just wreck the server and the abilities that the races used to have. A simple classic server is also really fun :D, always quite enjoyed I nice 20v20 Dust2 24/7 or something (Then again we could all join casual for Dust2 24/7 :D). Quote Share this post Link to post
Gunstar 513 Posted September 21, 2015 I think TTT would be worth a shot. It's fun, different and could attract a lot of players easily. Other stuff to think about would be CS GO HG(not sure about its popularity) , Mini games and maybe surf. TTT and Mini Games yes, surf and HG no imo. Great thing about TTT is that it can be easily populated, doesn't get boring after a while as roles are randomised each time. Also I think OB community is great in terms of admins/members so i think TTT rules can be followed well. Sure there can be RDMers, which is more likely than freekillers in JB as TTT rules can take a while to understand but I think we have active mods who can be in the server sorting that out. If other communities can manage that, why can't we? Also we can give our Members the ability to "votekick" RDMers like other servers. Votekick abuse can be dealt with tbh now that member is not a "one stop shop". Quote Share this post Link to post
Dave 2 Posted September 21, 2015 Either a deathmatch server or a surf server, nothing too complicated and can be fairly easy to populate. Quote Share this post Link to post
inmylife 5 Posted September 22, 2015 Please no surf, maybe Simon wants to cell his nightcrawler mod or release it in collaboration? Quote Share this post Link to post
