The webbased version of Mafia doesn't use webcams as far as I can see. So wouldn't that suggest that Chris was correct in the fact you don't NEED a camera. I think he might be saying people shouldn't be told they can't play if they don't have one or don't want to use one.

You can play mafia without webcam but its less fun.

Thats like saying u can play tag without legs, yes u can but its more fun with.

The mafia game originates from playing in real life, seeing other people their reactions and what not.

So us playing on tinychat is far closer to the real deal than webbases typing.

I think everyone is right here in some way. You don't NEED webcams but as paradox said it isn't as fun without them because you don't get to see people's reactions. The variation of Mafia we play requires tinychat and is like 10x more fun. We don't need to have a massive discussion about this.

On a serious note (although I was actually being serious), we enjoy playing it this way, I never heard anyone complain (from the people that actually played with us) and that's what matters. If we didn't use cameras we would probably get bored of it ages ago and yes, it excludes some people that don't have a camera/don't want to show themselves but other games exclude people aswell like AOE2 or H1Z1, some people can't afford it /pc can't run it and are left off so there really isn't a difference, it's just how things are. Welcome to life.

Also, about some of the Fishermans comments.. I mean Chris (mistyped sorry), we don't vote off the new players every single round and every single game. It's a strategy that improves the towns chances of winning but most people don't follow it and/or the mafia does the best they can to keep them in the game. Being an experienced player isn't good either, you either get killed by the mafia because you're too dangerous or the detective checks you straight away.

Fluxy go try the web based game, it's purely luck based and Im just going to leave it at that, I dont want to spoil the fun.

Any other "complaint" that was said is poor quality bait, I ain't touching that.

Tl;dr: pointless argument, change thread's name to Introduction to Fishing and Baiting, keep making me laugh

Except this is a lot more dumbed down with much less roles :P

Town of Salem came after Mafia. i'm pretty sure.

Escorts are OP, we called it the Prostitute if you look at earlier posts and Jailor would be the same and also Complicated.

That depends on what you like, do you wanna win the game by using your own smarts, logic deduction and paying attention or a random number generator who gives you a randow power
