  1. +1. Ginger is almost constantly on the Jailbreak server, so much so that I worry for his mental health. Contrary to what other people say, it's quite nice to see someone with a fully functioning microphone, not feel the need to constantly use it all the time. Although his forum post isn't insane, most of the posts or replies I see from him are well thought out and bring good points to a discussion. He's also a pretty cool guy to talk to, with a great sense of humor. Goodluck! :D
  2. Although I've seen this been suggested many times on the Jailbreak suggestion board (Mainly by DannyS), I feel like it needs a thread to itself. I think the idea of giving newer players, who've never played before a limit before they play on T would: 1. Give people a better feel for the gamemode as a whole, from an easier to understand perspective. CT can be a very difficult to understand when you first join the game. Where are the cells? What do you do as a warden? Who can I shoot? What are all these weapons? What gun should I get? As a T it is much easier for people to understand the premise of the gamemode, and how to play. 2. Allow people to be welcomed more positively on the server. Countless times I've seen players on the server being harassed and attacked on CT when they start playing JB. Even if you're not freekilling or gun-planting, Jailbreak's rules can be confusing to begin with, and people often try to take control of Ts when they're not warden, and bait. This makes people understandably angry and toxic towards these players, and this could make them leave the server and not come back. They will know not to do this when they're on T, and see how other CTs act, and maybe come back to the server, creating more regulars. 3. Reduce freekilling/baiting/gunplanting If you've never seen jailbreak before, and joined by absolute chance then the obvious thing to do, when seeing a large group of enemies is to start spraying them down, as you would in in matchmaking, or most other CSGO game modes. As I said previously when a player starts as T, there is very little they can do to break the rules and destroy a round, because they don't know what's happening. After a short period of time, they'll either decide they don't like the gamemode, or continue playing as it should be played. 4. Get players on other servers to understand the differences Regrettably, I've played on a few other Jailbreak servers, and they are quite a bit different to ours. Most of them are much stricter, and practise commands like AFK freeze. I think players transitioning to our server needs to know how OB is different to their server. The amount of people who try to say AFK freeze, or don't use warning shots can be pretty frustrating. Conclusion To summarise I think that a ban on newer players for maybe 30minutes, or so would improve the server greatly! :D I'm sorry that I have not given a plugin, as I could not find one, but I've seen it on other servers, so there will be one out there somewhere.
  3. Don't let what Popey say deter you from changing your name. In my opinion Echo is a pretty cool name, and many other players have successfully re-named them selves, you just need to be determined and not give up. Rory did it fairly successfully.

    Newer players

Oh damn, I guess I wasted my time then. xD I'll be sure to suggest this to newer plays when I see them on the server. Thanks a lot! :D Feel free to delete this thread.

    Newer players

On the server tonight I saw about 5 or 6 new players who have never played JB before, and I realised that when they joined the server, it's initially very intimidating and confusing for them to; understand whats going on, and grasp the concept of Jailbreak. I personally think more precautions should be made to help newer players, this can help prevent baiting/freekilling players, and get more regulars on the server. This can be done in a few ways. 1: CT block them to start with By stopping new players from going CT to begin with, you not only stop freekillers and baiters, but allow players to view how JB works from an easier perspective. By stopping a player going on the CT team for, lets say 30mins of ingame time, it stops people being angry towards them for doing something wrong (freekilling/baiting), and therefore means that they're less likely to be scared off the server. I'm not sure if there's a plugin for this, but I've seen it done on other servers, so there is probably one around somewhere. 2: Create a short guide on what Jailbreak is Although at this point we have the '/rules' command, I really dont think is enough to introduce new players to Jailbreak. A wall of text can be intimidating and boring for new player and I think a short, paragraph guide explaining how Jailbreak works, what to do, and what's going on, is really useful. For example, having a command such as '/new' is much easier for a experienced player to tell a newer player what to do, than having to explain the entire concept of Jailbreak through text chat. Within this guide it should include, basic principles, how JB works and what it's aims are, and a basic shorthand of the rules. This should not be too much longer than a few lines, so not to bore or turn away newer players, but to interest them in the game mode. 3: Not overcomplicating Jailbreak By adding lots of over the top features it can scare away new players, and make Jailbreak look harder or more complex than it really is.
  7. :grin1: Great to see you on the forums at last CQ, enjoy your stay. You're one of the friendliest people on the server, and I'm looking forward to see you on here and on TS! :D
  8. Hey guys, I've just picked up this game and played with a few people from OB, it's really a lot of fun and I'd suggest it, but I'm really bad and need some people to mentor me. I'm level/rank 40 and want to play with some people. Hit me up on steam. http://steamcommunity.com/id/SamuelEdmondson/

    Member Trades?

I really like this idea, but I don't believe having it member only is fair. There are many people on the server including vets and trusted players who aren't currently member, but I'd personally have full faith in. Maybe a verification or forum requirement system should be needed for non-member to access or post on the board.
  10. It better be me. Welcome to the forums dude, it's great to see you've got your account working and I hope to see more of you on here! :D
  11. This is actually really cool and I've been looking into this kind of thing for a while, but not seen anything. Your thumbnails look really professional, and your videos are really well done, with the music. Two personal preferences would be to group your videos by map, or at least have one 'JB_Peanut Secrets' and have one 'JB_Peanut Game tutorials' video, because it can be difficult to browse through large amounts of videos. I'd also like to see annotations in your videos for tips and help, because although many of these things look easy, you might need some tips in some activities, that can't be explained in visual form.

    Perk system

As much as I think this perks seems fairly cool and interesting, I'd have to agree with Substick. One of my favorite aspects of OB as a server is that everything is balanced, so the new player is just as likely to rebel or win a game as an older one. As much as I'd love to get a speed boost and win a race or get a cheeky backstab on a CT I honestly don't think it's fair; it overcomplicates the game for newer player, and turns JB into a pay2win system that I completely disagree with. (Donation > Credits > Perks).
  13. You're a sick person. Welcome back Sniffles very suprised to see you here again, seems a bit weird after you made a 'Goodbye forever' post, but nevertheless it'll be nice to see your positivity back on the server.

    Holiday plans

If you mean over summer, I'm going to France near Le Mans to meet up with some relatives in a chateux, which seems fun, and the weather should be nice. For easter I believe I'm going to London with my parents, but I don't know what to do there, any ideas? It's over 4 days.
  18. Thanks a lot for this Skeff. After testing a few of the maps on my own, Lotus and Battleforce Summer look like they'll be a lot of fun to CT with some great games (Espicially the B&Y on Lotus). Aeon looks amazing aesthically, but I've not had a chance to test the gameplay yet! The Airship fix also looks really good.

    Phones?

I used to have that phone, can confirm, it's awful. I currently have a Nexus 4, but it's broken now and it's not really up to scratch. I'm hoping to upgrade to a nicer phone around the 200 pound mark, possibably the one plus one, but I dont know. Any suggestions?
  20. Player Name: Cereal (Sam) Date of Birth: 11/9/00 Age: 15 Country/Location: West Yorkshire, UK SteamID: STEAM_0:0:44632786 Games Played: Video games have been apart of my life from when I was 6 or 7 years old and my parents bought me a Gameboy Advanced and Pokemon Blue <3. I played the game for hours on end, despite being too stupid to advance in the story, I'd keep walking around the same area over and over. As I got older my parents bought me a PS1 after seeing my love the gameboy. Me being obsessed with the monsters inc franchise, would spend large portions of my day playing the Monsters inc game. I then got a PS2 where my first shooter game was Star Wars Battlefront I (Still an amazing game). As I moved on to primary school (10 years old) I met a friend who was obsessed with Halo, I played Halo 2, then Halo 3, then ODST. I loved playing muliplayer split screen and would dream about different strategies to the game. When my same friend grew bored of Halo and moved on the the Call Of Duty Black Ops 1 Zombie scene I eagerly followed, eventually becoming so invested in the game, that despite all of my friends moving on, I continued to play by myself, every day after school for hours. After making new friends in secondary/high school, who were big into PC gaming 13 year old me built a gaming PC, and bought Counter-Strike GO. I also play a bit of Fifa, although much less than I used to, and when I'm not playing CSGO, I'll mostly play strategy games such as Age Of Empires. I have a guilty pleasure of competitive Pokemon. Roughly how long have you been playing our server(s)? I believe to of started playing OB JB by accidently joining the server but falling instantly in love the social, community, strategic elements. This was during late September in 2015. I've been hooked ever since. What qualities can you bring to Outbreak? I believe that I am a very dedicated enthusiastic person who can be social and helpful towards newer and veteran players. I have the ability to adapt myself to the situation whether it be calm, serious or comedic. I enjoy getting involved official and unofficial community events such as comps, gathers, duck hunts or anything else that's going on. I'd hope to think that I'm a friendly caring individual, who is approachable from newer players. I just adore every element of Outbreak, from the multiculturalism to the amazing inviting people here, and I want to be apart of it, however cringey and cliché it sounds. I believe that I'm helpful and friendly to newer players. Although as some of the older players may remeber when I orignally joined OB I was toxic and ragey, but I'd think that I've improved and am a more calm and relaxed person, who can have fun and doesn't take JB and OB too seriously. I'm familiar with both regulars on the server and the older experienced players. Tell us a little something about yourself: I'm Sam , and I'm 15 and from West Yorkshire. I'm a pecsitarian Rugby player. I am currently studying Catering, Geography, Programming, English, Maths, PE and extended science for my GCSE exams at the end of next year. I am initially quite a quiet person, but can become more confident the more I know you. I also enjoy baking, reading, spending time with friends, coding, and walks in my spare time. Is this your first post? Nope Have you been around for less than a month(This includes Teamspeak and forums)? I have been on TS for nearly 2 months, and the forums for just over 1. How have I improved since I last applied? Since I last applied I have particapted in more events within the community including more Mafia, AOE and CSGO gathers, and mixes on CSGO with other people. I have hugely increased my activity on TS and the Forums. As shown in the picture I have also kept up with my server activity, being on for a large portion of time. Importantly I have also improved my intergration, being in large TS channels more commonly, and talking to different members of the community more often.

    Peanut Zeus issues

I'd have to agree with the others in saying that it's not a big deal. It's fine to spend a little bit trying to get the guy to shoot it, but I dont think it's fair to kill someone, unless it's your very first command. You've got to be aware that there is 25 other Ts waiting to play games on peanut, and as long as you have mildly competent CTs it shouldn't be too huge of a problem.
