Having to type this from the phone before I start work so please excuse the errors.  Really great jobs by Gunstar and Unseen in organising the tournament, it was extremely fun to play in and it has certainly been run smoothly with few problems.  Also really great job with the casting Brad and everyone else who has chipped in, it makes the tournament that much better when there are so many dedicated individuals that are willing to help out the community.
 
I'm not going to mention much in regards to team balance since I think it's obvious and will always be the case that some teams will be better than others.  I would however say a huge thanks to Vengeance, Sovman, Echo, Liutvi and Pepe for being such good sports when we played.  You all played fantastic in our games and I couldn't have asked for better teammates, especially when we decided to play 5 smites :D.  
 
Great job all and good luck to the two teams in the final.

Although I get your point Flux and see that you are agreeing with what we are doing, I want to put it out there that it isn't the same boat.
Level 20 isn't a rank, we're not making a skill based requirement - realistically we are doing even less than what CS:GO tourney did because everyone in the CS:GO tournament had a rank (meaning they had achieved at least private rank 3 in exp based levels and had done placement games in ranked). Our system actually allows for some people who haven't even achieved the 'private rank 3' equivalence or even done ranked placements to compete essentially. It works out to an extent though because this community's standard of play in LoL is far lower than the community's standard of play in CS - this being shown from the fact that Danny (level 14) is better than 90% of the shitters (xoxo) who are actually ranked.
Another contrast is the definition of 'power level' - your defining it by ability, Raw was defining it by stat. Your level up to 30 (which is xp based and to encourage practice before being allowed to rank) restricts what runes/masteries you can have. Runes/masteries provide your base stats at the start/during a game, meaning someone who is level 30 could start with significantly more damage than someone who is level 1 - meaning if 2 people were equally skilled then the higher level would win purely on stats alone which is fucking aids. Ideally we would restrict it to level 30 in that case, but level 20 is kind of a benchmark which at least allows players to play in every role (you need runes/masteries to effectively jungle) and so we left it more open considering OB's standard of LoL play.
I do agree that for these tournaments in the future, an actual rank benchmark might improve the standard and make it a more effective competition - you won't get teams with 4 players + 1 botplayer, at the same time it's kind of hard to define that - especially if you take my team in the CS:GO tourney as an example where 'BOT Conor' was more useful than myself, Liutvi and Eraser combined. It also wouldn't work very well with LoL for OB as the majority of players are sub nova 1 equivalent standard to put it into perspective.
tl;dr - I like your point Hugio but we're not actually doing that for this tourney as everyone is trash at LoL, ty for the gl tho :D

Great event, enjoyed abusing the powers that i was given.

After their plan ensued and, as expected, ended up a clown fiesta - the skids had been put down once more. They took down a few servers with them and were able to scream enough to cause injury among the OB hierarchy but as they scurried away once more they knew they had failed to take down the system.

Memorable Moments:
- All of Team 1 apart from Skeff being slaughtered at the very start of Round 2 but Skeff still clutching and getting them the 10 points.
- Fluxy instantly jumping and throwing his knife, killing Lewis on first throw as soon as I said 'bang'.
- Me being interrupted every fucking time I was explaining something by the server crashing :^)))))))))
Thanks to those who turned up and I hope you enjoyed the parts of the event that were played. I'm honestly sorry for the issues and disappointed myself as so much of it was out of our control. I felt the event could have been so much more enjoyable and gone so much more smoothly if not for the random server crashes throughout the event and the delay at the start due to the number of replacements. I hope future events can have less out-of-control issues pop up and can continue to create the enjoyable atmosphere that came from a large group of you at least.
Unfortunately it does have to be noted that the following individuals, even if with reasons, will be receiving event cooldowns either due to not turning up or being late:

- Dank Potato: 3 events
- Young Gerald: 2 events
If people want to talk about their event cooldowns with me they can feel free, but in most cases I've been fairly lenient considering the sheer number of reserves we had to use. Once again thanks all for playing.

After a long wait, the Outbreak Staff are delighted to announce the release awaited and much vaunted Minecraft server!

♦ There will be 6 game modes on release (see here) and we'll be hoping to add new content and games for people to enjoy.

♦ There will be a separate store on the server which will allow plays to buy various sets of items to have on the server. Although the ownership of items will be separate to JB, a £5 donation would put you in the OB donator group just the same.
♦ Outbreak is also searching for new jailbreak moderators, primarily players who are active and integrated members of our community. We're particularly looking at players who are around during off hours, past 12AM into the night, Please read all information before applying.

♦ As you have probably noticed I've added Christmas snow to the forums - however it may increase CPU load. If you are having Issues you can remove it by going to USER CONTROL PANEL --> Board preferences --> 'Enable Holiday Snow?' and choose "No".

Hello all
As you may have noticed in the 2016 thread Here, we're making changes to the way membership works, and our expectations regarding members going forward. Before, obtaining membership was the only time your membership would be examined: now, we will make membership checks every month.
Being a member means being an active participant in our community, and this activity can take place in a variety of ways. Members play the servers, make quality posts on the forum, come on teamspeak, play gathers or other games, and enjoy integrating with our wider community. In the past, we would very rarely examine activity levels, but we're taking a marginally different stance going forwards. From now on, we'll expect members to complete two out of three of our holy trinity regularly: Play the servers, come on teamspeak, and post on the forum.
We're not expecting fanatical dedication, but at the very least token activity on two, ideally three, would be appreciated. As we release more servers hopefully we'll give you more and more reasons to hop on to Outbreak. Being a member should hopefully be consistently a force of fun - we'd love to see people staying up till 3am on tinychat or watching silly youtube videos online or having a movie night - all of these things are perhaps the most integral part of our community, and we encourage every single member to try these.
The community team will meet once a month and quickly review the member core. If they are concerned for any reason, they'll give you a quick friendly chat - we'd like you to remain a member, after all.
Members will now have the exclusive benefit of hosting events, if they would like to Here. This is by no means expected, but may provide an interesting and different experience compared to the usual "manifold" membership activies open to them already.
If you find you're bored of the server, then no problem. Try hosting an event or making a map or video editing - produce something for everyone else. It's an immensely rewarding experience and Outbreak is a fantastic medium for any budding media creators.
For those who have been members for two years or more and find that they're moving on to bigger things with life, be it a university or a job or anything, then you are welcome to apply to any of the administrators for Outbreak Veteran status. Veteran is a status given to those who meet the above criteria and will never be removed - Veterans have several benefits, including event priority and the ability to skip trial.
Members should be welcoming and friendly at all times. As a member, you are permanently representing the community, and members who unnecessarily grief, abuse or are generally acrimonious will be warned very quickly to change their behaviour before a final warning is given.
In layman's terms:
♦ We'll review member once a month.
♦ Members should be active on at least TWO of the following: the servers, the forum or teamspeak.
♦ Any issues and we'll flag them with you
♦ We'd like people to enjoy being member, and integrating in multiple ways
♦ Members can host events Here
♦ Those with 2 years+ activity can apply for Veteran
♦ Don't be a dick
If you have any questions, direct them to the community team, beginning with Kartoffel and down.

I'm sorry to hear this Jamie though I would like to thank you for always giving us plenty of warning when it came to your issues.  It's a shame this had to happen but hopefully you can make your almighty return in OB ESL 2017 :D.  Hope you manage to fix your issues :). 

I've thrown the stats up for the first week.  They can be found on the ESL page on the right side of page.
 
Congrats to everybody who made it onto the stats for the first week, though given that several teams have yet to play a second game they are obviously skewed towards the four teams that have played two games already. 
 
Just a few things to end this:
 
For the sake of making it easier to post starts, could everybody keep their name the same as what it normally is.  It's not a huge issue but it just makes it slightly easier for me if people keep the same name as normal.

Also, could we please say this once again.  Please, please, please contact us if you aren't going to be able to make a game or if you are going to be late etc, it makes things much easier and means that we don't have to waste other players time getting them ready for them to be told that they aren't playing / won't be playing for x amount of time.

Sovman isn't 100% covering for you yet but we will be considering it.  Haven't fully decided yet since he is also supposed to be covering for Thunder on another day :).  We will have to wait and see.

Or we could just change to hostage maps and use the skids of Outbreak as the hostages.  Then at least CT's win the round either way.

Unfortunately, now that the UK has departed from the EU I would like to let everybody know about a few changes that will be happening in the tournament.  We would have liked to keep everything the same but unfortunately we can't ignore the radical change that has been made and thus I will be listing the changes below.
 
Since the economy has taken a dip, all weapon prices will now be doubled; terrorist will still start with the glock, though Counter-Terrorist's who use the USP will unfortunately have to use it without the silencer since apparently it was too expensive to obtain.  Do not lose hope though, if you donate for VIP you will be provided with the silencer.
 
All 5v5 games will now only be played on the map dust2.  The metal doors on dust2 will also be changed back to wood since metal is now too expensive
 
All streaming of the tournament will be done in 144p since it is far too expensive to do it in higher quality.
 
The 1v1 tournament will now be knife only since providing weapons for both the 1v1 and the 5v5 was just too much hassle.
 
On behalf of all the tournament organisers, I would like to apologise for the changes that have unfortunately been made, we hope you still enjoy the tournament and we hope that these changes don't effect you or your team much.
