Also, for starters it doesn't cost any more because we're on a dedicated server for our gameservers anyway - so that point is out of the window. Furthermore Discord is useful for the likes of guilds and smaller groups, but expanding communities are far easier to manage through TS. Furthermore it is far more adaptable to plugins and has a wider variety of options in configuration and permissions for setting up a structure (like we have).
TS is older too and more commonly used as well so it opens up for more people, this and Discord has been known to have issues for people from certain areas where it actually causes games to crash (a large group of people I knew from Sweden were having their games crash every time they joined discord).
Even without all of these points, our community has used TS since 'OB genesis' and so you wouldn't really be able to change people's ways.
Back to the topic, were you just popping in to say hi or should we expect to see you around on our servers?

Surf Grand Opening
We are glad to say that we are at last going to be opening up the server that we promised in the April News Update. After an eventful couple of months and a silly number of issues popping up along the way, we are finally able to start up the surf server this Friday at 6PM.

The server will start out with 11 maps, a rank system and !redie. It also has hive365 radio.
We look forward to opening the new server and hopefully expanding our community!

Roughly how long have you been playing our server(s)? I don't know how to check hours and stuff but i played server all the time in CSS and played alot in CSGO as well, i haven't played to much jb recently but i am going to be ready for the surf server 
What qualities can you bring to Outbreak? Not really sure, people just say i'm nice and friendly, my PMA is high and i like to help by spreading it to others who are on the more toxic side of the servers, bringing out happy times.

To add to this i'm now also helping out in the polls, so the election votes work out good, i watch Game of tomes and i look at the most latest anime section for episodes to watch everyday at night as i have watched anime for like 8 years and think i'm near enough up to date, the only things that i don't watch are just boring or to weird for me. Also, ask me for a game an i'm most likely to play, ensuring i'm not afk. and most importantly i drink a litre of orange juice for that vitiman C, so all of this is in owange.

Sorry, I'm not not sure if you meant it this way but this has come across, at least for me, as really ignorant and arrogant. If you had been active recently you might recall a few weeks ago we were about to put up the surf server and everything was going well, a default server was even set up but before any custom work could be begun our stuff was hacked into and due to this everything was disabled by us to try limit the amount of damage and to find out how it had happened.
Also as a side note, just before the 'hack' happened, we had moved over to a new dedi as for the same price we got double ram, quadruple hard drive space and eventually more security. We had a week to move over the gameservers to a new dedi due to what happened, which would be fine by itself but as the new dedi is Linux I also would have had to learn all of the basics for Linux to set up gameservers in that time too.
However of course things in OB don't go so easily. When I had 5 days to finish moving our stuff across from the dedi to our new bigger and better dedi, we got anonymoosed and I had to  spend 1-2 days trying to find out how it was done to make sure it doesn't happen again. This ended up in me deciding to move everything to the new dedi to keep it more secure so it meant having to have to learn a hell of a lot more in a short time. These were things that I've never had any real previous experience with but after staying up quite a bit over those few days that I had I was able to get a basic JB up. I then had to get the forums sorted by setting up SQL databases and importing previous data (which is really fucking fun), following this I also had to fix, add extra things to and secure our sourcebans, CTbans, permissions and every other little thing while also fixing every problem that popped up along the way. All of this was done along with having a job and other commitments. I'm not trying to sound petty or like a bitch when I say this, I am more than willing to put time into this community but I work at my own pace.
So I have been doing a hell of a lot of stuff and working as fast as I can without completely just no life-ing 100% of my time to it. It is a hobby of mine but this an explanation of why surf is taking longer than we expected. Also Mintlou, I don't really know what your point is about as others have tried to explain it to me but I'll wait until you come to me directly rather than listen to their possibly wrong interpretations. Read above if you also didn't know why surf has been taking longer.

Since I joined OB(actually it's on the 3rd of June but joined the servers and stuff days before so...) and I don't know why, I wanted to share with you my experience so far in OB :D
It all started when I was bored browsing cmmunity servers and saw a JB server in which I had low ping so I joined. Jokingly, I said when joining: "Hello, my <n-word>s!" and instantly got muted by sjnokstaart. He was the first OB member I met and got on well with him, so over the days I noticed some events stuff but I didn't know anything so I joined the forums too and from the forums I moved to teamspeak. I didn't know almost anyone so I used to stay in the lobby because I was too shy to join a room with a lot of people, but after some time I decided to join a room and damn, I hadn't laughed so much for some time, I don't remember what they were talking about but it was quite funny. So I met gaffeR, venga, mintlou, stiqqy and sony (I met sony in-game and his favourite insult is inbred fuck :D), all of them awesome people. Later, I met Unseen and noticed he is a fan of Warhammer like me and we had some knowledge in common and our favourite sentence is: "Blood for the blood God!". Also, until I heard the voice of venga I thought he was a girl, don't ask me why.
So with the time I was very comfortable with OB already and familiarized with members and mods, and people started calling me mexican storm, just in case anyone asks, no, I don't find it annoying, in fact, it's actually funny because people play south american songs and stuff for the laughs, funny meme tbh. It also helped to distinguish me from the old storm now called Iszuka.
I know I haven't been present for the last month but I've been worried with university stuff and wanted to share some time with my friends too so I almost didn't have time to join TS to at least say hi so for that I say sorry!
So this is it. Just wanted to share with you my awesome experience I've had in OB. I know I haven't named a lot of people who I also like a lot (#nohomo) so I'll put them down here, if I don't name you don't worry, I also like you or I  don't, we'd have to discuss that.

And that's all folks, sorry if I didn't put you on this list, don't kill me for that, just wanted to get this out of my chest, I just wanted to share with you this because of all the communities I've known (all of them Spanish) this is the one, haven't stayed for so long in a community and I don't plan to leave anytime soon or later.
 

So I was patrolling 'the YouTube' and as some of you know I'm fairly into my Civilization...
I wasn't a massive Beyond Earth fan (due to the way it was styled, I did like the out of space concept) so bringing it back to Earth and the ages gives me a glimmer of hope. Let's just hope it doesn't take 50 DLCs to make it close to right this time :^)
I know it's quite a while away, but thoughts? I know quite a few of us here are budding Civ5 players, I'll more than likely be getting this (despite the more cartoon-y images which Conor just pointed out to me o.e) unless shown clear reasons to do otherwise (which I'm hoping there won't be).

In our community we have strict rules against cheating in games, both CS:GO and other games within our community, and this lead to the reason behind your ban. Our staff banned you under the assumption that you had a VAC ban under 100 days old, which was clearly a mistake as you have a game ban which is separate to anything CS:GO or OB related. We do not approve of cheating in other games and if you had done so within our community you would still have been banned, all the same this was a mistake and you will be unbanned in due course.
I apologise on the behalf of our staff for the mistaken ban and also for the slow reply due to recent issues making it more difficult for us to find out why you were banned ourselves. If you have any other issues PM me through the forums or find me on steam.

Hey all,
As many of you know gathers are a big part of OB and being part of them is among one of the easiest ways to play with and integrate with players from the community. It allows for us to play CS:GO in its competitive mode without the same competitive pressures you get from playing matchmaking or ladders. This means gathers can potentially have a variety of abilities, personalities and levels of seriousness within them.
We are aware that people enjoy gathers in different ways and so to an extent people should be allowed to play how they want. However it has come to our attention that recently behaviour in gathers, both in gameplay and attitude, has become unacceptable. From flat out mindless team killing to continually harassing individuals to getting excessively angry over extremely petty in-game events; the list can go on from the number of things which add up to make a large portion of gathers toxic as of late. Due to this we will be enforcing the poor behaviour which has become the norm from now on, this isn't done with the intention of 'safe spacing' and ruining fun but to prevent more gathers taking place where people are intentionally ruining other people's fun, finding it acceptable and in some cases boasting about it when they spark a reaction out of someone.
 
The first, and most significant point, is about the extents of 'baiting' in gathers. Baiting and mocking among friends is something which has always been part of OB and having a laugh is not something we want to stop but recently, especially in gathers, 'baiting' and 'joking' has become a disguise for what is frankly flat out harassment and toxic treatment towards individuals. It becomes worse in gathers because everyone groups up on individuals and makes them feel awful; that isn't having a joke or mocking someone, that is bullying. This sort of continuous beratement of people which leads onto more personal jibes has been getting out of hand and has been completely ruining the atmosphere of what could be enjoyable, pleasant games. Do not be surprised if a mod warns you and ends up banning you, not only from gathers but from OB full stop, if you are found being toxic.
Next is about gameplay and the line between trolling and having fun. People enjoy the game in different ways and enjoy playing with different weapons, however purposely ignoring team mates and stubbornly acting for your own gain when a team mate has asked you to do something is just as much toxic behaviour as the way they might be reacting to it (which I'll get to in a moment). These cases are situational but you know when you are trolling and it is obvious to others when you are intentionally doing something in-game to annoy others. Extreme cases such as intentional constant team killing just won't be tolerated full stop, it ruins the game for everyone.
Finally, the levels of competitiveness and seriousness of players in gathers can be a large cause for issue. Being competitive is absolutely fine and so is wanting to win, but allowing this drive to make you angry and take it out on the people you are playing with is both petty and unnecessary. Treating people as if they are inferior to you as a person because they don't do what you want in a game is simply pathetic. Even if they are provoking you with the way they act, resorting to toxicity will never help the situation and will only make it harder for us to believe you and deal with the people infuriating you in the first place. 
 
To summarise; behaviour causing gathers to become toxic is going to be enforced upon. This is a last warning for everyone. A list of rules will be put into the gather gallery channels in due course. Sorry it is has had to come to a set structure of rules but hopefully this will lead to an improvement in the atmosphere and attitude in gathers.
