  1. Hey all Outbreak is searching for new moderators, primarily players who are active and integrated members of our community. Please read all information before applying. Thanks in advance, The OB Staff
  2. Hello all As you may have noticed in the 2016 thread Here, we're making changes to the way membership works, and our expectations regarding members going forward. Before, obtaining membership was the only time your membership would be examined: now, we will make membership checks every month. Being a member means being an active participant in our community, and this activity can take place in a variety of ways. Members play the servers, make quality posts on the forum, come on teamspeak, play gathers or other games, and enjoy integrating with our wider community. In the past, we would very rarely examine activity levels, but we're taking a marginally different stance going forwards. From now on, we'll expect members to complete two out of three of our holy trinity regularly: Play the servers, come on teamspeak, and post on the forum. We're not expecting fanatical dedication, but at the very least token activity on two, ideally three, would be appreciated. As we release more servers hopefully we'll give you more and more reasons to hop on to Outbreak. Being a member should hopefully be consistently a force of fun - we'd love to see people staying up till 3am on tinychat or watching silly youtube videos online or having a movie night - all of these things are perhaps the most integral part of our community, and we encourage every single member to try these. The community team will meet once a month and quickly review the member core. If they are concerned for any reason, they'll give you a quick friendly chat - we'd like you to remain a member, after all. Members will now have the exclusive benefit of hosting events, if they would like to Here. This is by no means expected, but may provide an interesting and different experience compared to the usual "manifold" membership activies open to them already. If you find you're bored of the server, then no problem. Try hosting an event or making a map or video editing - produce something for everyone else. It's an immensely rewarding experience and Outbreak is a fantastic medium for any budding media creators. For those who have been members for two years or more and find that they're moving on to bigger things with life, be it a university or a job or anything, then you are welcome to apply to any of the administrators for Outbreak Veteran status. Veteran is a status given to those who meet the above criteria and will never be removed - Veterans have several benefits, including event priority and the ability to skip trial. Members should be welcoming and friendly at all times. As a member, you are permanently representing the community, and members who unnecessarily grief, abuse or are generally acrimonious will be warned very quickly to change their behaviour before a final warning is given. In layman's terms: ♦ We'll review member once a month. ♦ Members should be active on at least TWO of the following: the servers, the forum or teamspeak. ♦ Any issues and we'll flag them with you ♦ We'd like people to enjoy being member, and integrating in multiple ways ♦ Members can host events Here ♦ Those with 2 years+ activity can apply for Veteran ♦ Don't be a dick If you have any questions, direct them to the community team, beginning with Kartoffel and down. All the best, The OB Staff
  3. Rock-climbing without safety harness, I actually quite like rock climbing and I'd least have a chance to survive. Would you rather live in Harry Potter's world or be rich and famous?
  4. Hey everyone, So after long thought and much deliberation, we have chosen 4 new moderators to put on trial. In no particular order, the 4 trialists are: Daffy Duck Veng3nce Thunder Twiixtor Congratulations to the new members of our Admin Team! They will be set on a 2 week trial for mod. To those who weren't chosen the fact we didn't pick you doesn't automatically mean that you are not good enough to be a Moderator and If want to know the reasons behind why you haven't been chosen I'm more than happy to tell you the reason behind it in person. Thanks, Sir_Conor
  5. Chris, you are perfectly aware of your ban reasons and you have been given multiple chances to improve and yet again you have proven to people that you haven't learned from your mistakes. You were dragged into a channel, by me and asked to explain yourself and you declined - telling me that "you already know what happened", to which Marsh's accounts are assumed to be true. So by saying on your unban request that you didn't mic spam/raid/troll, are you telling me that Marsh is a liar and further dig yourself a deeper hole? You may feel you were dealt with harshly as opposed to the others who were involved but honestly this is mainly due to your previous offences and rule breaking. You are perfectly aware of our rules, as you've been dodging them since you joined the css jailbreak server. So instead of saying that this ban is a joke, take a moment to realism just how many chances you have had. There isn't anything more to say, the ban ends tonight and if I were you I would return with a clean slate and a fresh attitude. There is nothing stopping you from earning your member back easily if you improve.
  6. You were banned and will stay banned for micspamming, raiding and trolling. You've had too many chances and have just carried on. You shouldn't have been unbanned, and so your ban has been reissued. As to your membership, by being banned your membership is forfeit. Members are meant to be examples, and by being banned you fail to meet that basic expectation.
  7. Hey I've banned him for a week he left as I joined however next time don't shout over the server "Freeekiller ban him Conor" or "Thank god the Owner here" as it scares the poor freekillers away and I prefer to ban them in game so it bans their IP after that Sourcesleuth can catch any second accounts. Also Thanks for the Youtube Link makes it so much easier.
  8. Upgraded the ts slots but the port has changed the new IP and Port is 5.152.217.186:9997
  9. Hey everyone, A bit of bad news but rather necessary information you need to know. As of 09/07/15 we will be removing all vanilla knives from the store following a recent plea from Valve for community owners to remove all kinds of "fake" items from their servers and as we cannot risk a blacklist, we will be complying. This includes all knives, fake coins, fake ranks and fake weapon finishes like !ws. Here's the worst part for us - we have no way of seeing who has purchased knives from our store. We have no history of purchases and going through the database will take forever. This may be subject to change, as we will look into the plugin and ask the creator to see if there are ways for us to refund for a particular item. If Valve changes their mind about this whole thing, then anyone who has purchased a knife will automatically get it back. We will be offering double credits for 1 whole week upon round win as an apology on our behalf. This issue is way beyond our control - for more information click here: https://www.reddit.com/r/GlobalOffensiv ... community/ Sorry for any inconvenience, we will keep you posted for any updates as soon as we can. Sir Conor

  14. Hello Outbreak, A rather small but important update for you all. As of recently, there have been slight changes to our rule system regarding VAC bans. The changes are as follows: ♦ Anyone seen on the server with his/her last VAC ban under 100 days old will be banned from the server for 3 months. ♦ People with 3 VAC bans on their accounts in total will be permanently banned from the community on all of their accounts. ♦ If you get VAC banned while playing on the server, or VAC banned while being a trusted member of the community, you will be permanently banned. ♦ People with their last VAC ban under 1 year old will not be able to apply for member. ♦ People with a VAC ban under 3 years old will not be able to apply for Moderator. People with 2 VAC bans will never be able to apply for Moderator. In other news... ♦ Be sure to check out our rule page if you haven't already or type !rules in game to see them. ♦ Keep an eye out for new store content coming soon! ♦ Keep an eye on the forums for any more incoming updates to the server. Thanks, Sir Conor Owner

Doing so will result in an instant demotion.
  18. We're sorry to see you've had to come to this section. Please use this template when appealing/requesting a ban or mute. Please give solid evidence (log etc.) if possible, as whilst we do occasionally overturn bans, it's a bit of a red letter day. Make your case as strong as possible. Thanks. Ban Request: Player Name: SteamID: Why should he be banned: Evidence: Date of incident (to the best of your knowledge): UnBan/Unmute/UnCT-Ban Request: Player Name (at time of banning): SteamID: Ban/Mute/CT-Ban Reason Given: Server Banned From: Why you believe your ban was unfair/disproportionate: Do you have any evidence to support your claim?: Date of incident: Please follow the formats correctly or else your thread will just be locked and thrown away.
  19. Please use this template when reporting a staff member for abuse. We take these very seriously so please provide as much information as you possibly can. Admin Complaints: Admin Name: SteamID: What did he do: Evidence: Date of incident: Please follow the format correctly or else your thread will just be locked and thrown away.
  20. A Testimony is NOT substantial evidence This means that telling us how many witnesses you have or who can testify to your ban request will not result in a person being banned as it is too easy to just gather a group of people who don't like a certain player to ban them. Copy and pasted chat will rarely work as it is easy to rework the sentences Correct Evidence includes: Screenshots Screenshots are good evidence for reports of racism and abuse but isn't sufficient evidence for much else use steam to take scrrenshots by pressing F12 in-game and then uploading the screenshots to your profile. Videos to YouTube Recording a video through a free game recorder like http://www.fraps.com/ and uploading the footage to YouTube for our viewing pleasure can be a good way to report any rule breakers. Demos A demo has to be the most important reporting tool, it is very easy to do it and you need no software for it To record a demo 1. You must have console enabled in CS:GO, you can enable it by going into: OPTIONS > GAME SETTINGS > ENABLE DEVELOPER CONSOLE = yes 2. Whilst in a game open the console ( ¬ key next to 1) and type "record (name)" whatever you replace (name) with will be the demo's file name in your steam folder. 3. If you think you've captured enough in-game footage open console again and type "stop", this will end the demo and save it to your CSGO folder in steam. 4. Now you have to find the demo file, simply locate your steam folder in My computer/C:/Program files/Steam/steamapps/common/Counter Strike: Global Offensive/csgo. This is where you will locate your recorded demos. 5. Next you're going to want to upload the demo for us to download I like to use https://www.dropbox.com/ as its free and fast. 6. Once thats uploaded attach the uploaded file's link to your report and we can then review it by playing it back in counterstrike. Reporting someone for abuse shown in an argument with someone and yourself the ban times will not be severe as demos can only capture the voice of someone else, this is only the case if we see your microphone constantly popping up in the demo, this could mean you're being abusive back etc. All credit goes to Biggles for this thread's content. Thread has been remade for CS:GO.
