M1nt-l0u 1,235 Posted April 5, 2013 So, I've got my new GPU and was downloading GTA IV at a steady 14 mb/s. It's a large file, 14GB and it was at 14/mbs right up until it hit 12GB of the download. It then went to 2 mb/s and never climbs from that. Steam always does this, it starts high, then rockets to sometimes under a mb/s. Why? It is so annoying. Share this post Link to post
Biggles 44 Posted April 5, 2013 Because when you get to the smaller files and towards the end of a download it needs to go slower, its the same with everything like when you get to 99% on torrents Share this post Link to post

Professor 0 Posted April 5, 2013 Boo fooking hoo, try getting 400kb tops on all Downloads! Shitty Internet at mine :( 200kbps Took me 4 and a half hours to download bioshock. Get on my level. Share this post Link to post
Fluxy 1,660 Posted April 5, 2013 Its probably because your using up your bandwidth so it starts to cap it. Your ISP only lets you download so much each day before they cut your speeds Share this post Link to post
Quinn 643 Posted April 12, 2013 I have two houses (seperated parents) so I go from 70Mbps to 500KBps. So painful. Share this post Link to post

VENGA BUS 2,027 Posted April 13, 2013 Nut, are you joking? :P He posted a week later - on his own thread. Wist, be very, very cautious of Virgin. Was with them for year years during uni. Got nothing but awful. Sky, however, is great - but I'm in York. Maybe it's regional. Share this post Link to post
