i just want to know how well the laptop mics sound and if i should bother using one

Some laptop mics are okay, but most have an annoying fan sound.

Even if they are okay, they are to far from your mouth most of the time :p

Also, if you have a headset you got better sound, don't annoye otehrs with the sound of guns shooting all the time and I think a better mic quality as well.

if you use a laptop mic while commanding, expect tons of rebels.

You can get quite bad sound quality on a lap top and i wouldent reley in on it for commanding but it should be ok till you get a proper one

I used to have one, didn't want to buy a headset because I don't like having both my ears covered whilst talking on my mic because I know i'll accidentally forget how loud I'm being and my parents will make fun :(

I have the same problem, from the momment my both ears are covered I talk to loud ^^" so I place headset a bit wrong on my head, so only 1 ear is covered most of the time.

I'll explain what I mean with the picture, that's me wearing my headset. It works fine if you just hang it around your neck and speak into the mic. As far as I know my mic is a bit noisy but it works fine.

i use my laptop mic, as my sexy £40 mic doesnt work on CS:S but the quality on my laptop mic is ok
