  1. Day 17's winner: Kai Gratz @Kai on your 150 credits! ✔

  3. Unless Lewis wants different (I could be wrong in everything I'm about to post), we appreciate the offer but I don't think it'll be needed/would work for this thing. Unlike the previous tourney or our plans for next Summer, this is far more compact and more about getting people together to play than the showmanship of it all. Due to the nature of this, many games will be played at once and, rather than setting up multiple servers for it, Popflash allows you to easily setup several games at once with minimum effort and all the games will be played on the same standard of server. Apart from maybe the final (maybe semis too?), I doubt any of the other games will be streamed (only highlights taken from the demos). For the final itself (if we do decide to stream it) we should be able to work something out - although you did an amazing job for ESL, we have experience setting up servers too x) This is the discussion thread so you got the right place. Thanks for the offer but afaik we should be alright.
  4. Hey Linky, As I messaged you when you made the request, this post would be more of an explanation as it is clear you don't understand why you were banned. You were banned due to two reasons. For starters, your account received a game ban when we already had suspicions of your game play. Although this alone would not be a set reason for a ban, just a contributing factor to evidence when we do suspect someone, it was what brought you to our attention on that day and brought you into negative repute. The other reason, and this was the actual cause for your ban, was due to the toxic and negative behaviour that had been brought up on multiple occasions during your time in Outbreak. You had 4 bans and multiple warnings from staff prior to your perm which lead staff to decide that you did not deserve a place in our community, regardless of your account's game ban on top of that. After discussing it with those who dealt with the ban at the time, we decided that your ban will remain. We wish you all the best elsewhere. The OB Staff

  7. Day 13 (I swear his fucking luck is incredible, but he does enter every day): Designated Retard Gratz again @Designated Retard...I guess...wtf. Another 200 credits for you. ✔
  8. Day 12: Designated Retard Congratulations @Designated Retard on your second draw victory and your 100 credits! ✔ I guess your chances do increase if you are one of the few people who actually enter everyday.
  9. Considering the only deck I have ever used and likely will ever use is a shitty and basic Shaman 'Totally Totems' because I don't spend any money on the game and I used to just play it to pass time in between lessons on my ipod, I think I might get stomped somehow in this. With a game like Hearthstone it'll always be tough to 'mediate' it as such because the strength of your deck either relies on your purchases or extreme amount of play time. The only games that will really be determined by skill are those that either have 2 players who have similar deck strengths (that or if someone is flat out retarded and they lose to someone with a far worse deck). Your rule to restrict using the same deck twice is good to stop the 'most op style of deck' just snowballing a BO5, but at the same time excludes people such as myself who currently have only put enough time into the game to even have one mediocre deck (I haven't even unlocked the free cards for any classes except Shaman or Mage despite playing for years on and off lul). Though it can also be argued that people who can't even provide 3 decks in the first place might not have played enough for a tournament - who knows. Either way I'll be interested in playing. Due to it being free and the wide spread interest in the game as of late, it was another game that I had considered doing an official OB tourney styled thing for at some point (as we are a multi-gaming community), but I'm all for this at the same time.
  10. Hey all It's the festive time of the year and it's time for the monthly update. - Donation System: I like to repeat myself As mentioned in the last News & Update there have been significant changes to the way the donation system works and the various perks available. There has also been an ongoing advent during the Christmas month which you can sign up for each day by logging into the page and clicking on the advent day. We also have a raffle going on for the chance to win the 3 month package costing £1 per entry (package usually costs £15.99). For more information on the store see the post here. - Secret Santa: Last chance to join in Continuing the theme of Christmas spirited things within OB, the draws for our yearly Secret Santa are being drawn tomorrow. If you want to get involved then make sure to read up all of the details and find the sign up thread here. The more the merrier and it's a good way of getting into the Christmas spirit while showing your appreciation for others in this community. - Landing Page: Gunstar's 'behind the scenes' work The meme goes that the admins with 'no hours' are just using the excuse 'behind the scenes' work, but soon we hope to show you that it isn't just a meme. A post will come once everything is properly sorted to show it off properly, but this is to give you the heads up that the hours of work that Gunstar has been putting into the landing page and its features will hopefully be in use soon. - New Moderators: Welcome As many of you will have noticed, some new green names have popped up. We are happy to welcome the following individuals to the moderator team: - Rory - Pasickle - giant_cheesepuff To those who haven't been picked we would like to make it clear that it doesn't automatically mean you aren't good enough to become a moderator. The moderator applications are still going to be open for the time being and if you wish to know why you haven't been picked so far or how you could improve then please feel free to contact a senior member of staff. Congratulations once again to those three and good luck on their trials. - Goodbye & Thank You With new blood also comes a farewell for old blood. We've had three moderators step down from our ranks over the past few weeks. Although his time as a mod was brief, Sovman helped a lot in the development of surf and was an all round great character. Strogglok held his position for quite a period of time, put a lot of hours into moderating JB and helped run several events. Thanks to you both for your contribution to our community. The third person I felt deserved a bit of a separate paragraph. Becoming a moderator way back in July 2015 (when the mod colour was still turquoise), this guy has stuck with us and taken on the responsibility of moderating for a heck of a long time. He always would put effort in and ensure he did his bit each week even if he wasn't feeling great about it or he felt less inspired to put in, because he felt an urge to do his bit for our community. When he first became a mod he was incredibly shy due to personal reasons and watching him develop over his time as part of the staff team, making leaps and bounds in confidence, has truly been a pleasure for me to witness. In my opinion he is one of the best moderators that OB has ever had and I will look forward to the day that he has more time and more inspired to become a part of the team again. Thank you Twiixtor for all the effort you have put in, both on the server and 'behind the scenes'. That will conclude this monthly update. Thank you once again to everyone who puts effort into this community. We hope you all have a great festive period, a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. The OB Staff
  11. Day 11: Raw Congratulations @Raw on your second draw victory and your 150 credits! ✔
  12. Very enjoyable event. Kept simple but had a great atmosphere to it: 'EZZZZZZZZ'. I also fucking suck at Paintball, I got like 4 kills during the entire event. Ty for hosting xoxo
  13. The Duck can get my credits if he likes. Also mb for forgetting to post, did remember multiple times but got swished away by gathers.
  14. Spoke to you anyway but gz again on getting the place sorted.
  15. The winner of Day 9 is: Brandon Congratulations on your 200 credits! ✔
  16. Day 8 winner is: Rhyse Gratz on your 150 credits! ✔
  17. I would take the flight, bearing in mind I've never actually been on a flight so it'd be new, whereas humiliation isn't new for anybody I'd imagine and it sucks. Would you rather have the ability to have any of your minor small mistakes in life (spelling errors, slight miscalculations, missteps that resulted in a small trip) amended or able to correct one massively life impacting mistake?
  18. Considering I made a post about ruining threads through irrelevant baits and shit talking just yesterday, let's just say that I'm not happy that pretty much every member of staff who can has had to hide numerous posts over the last few hours. It's honestly pathetic. Some of you might find it funny and just see it as baits, some of you might just see it as retaliation and 'that person started it'. Quite frankly, I don't give a shit. If you want to have your baits or be flat out a twat towards someone, save it for yourself - the forum is not the place for it and this is far from the first time that this has been said. The forum is a public platform where, unless you literally sign what you are saying as bait/sarcasm (and even when you do that it doesn't excuse 95% of what gets said), people can interpret anything in any way. Over the last couple of weeks or so this forum has enjoyed moderate life with a good balance of funny random shit and discussion, it doesn't need the shitfest that devolved over a few threads. So whether it be baits, insults, shit posts, just blatantly derailing thread inappropriately or anything that you know full well is just flat out not acceptable - it won't be tolerated any longer. Older and newer players have been involved in this and you know full well who you are. Whether you dislike a group/individual or just get kicks out of it, it ruins the forums and creates petty drama for staff to deal with when they are already dealing with enough as it is (I've even seen individuals directly ignore staff when being asked to settle it down). So let's make it clear, anyone who continues this petty shit will be facing loss of membership/whatever groups they are in and will likely be facing bans/further restrictions - we don't have time to monitor the forums for toxic behaviour constantly and we shouldn't have to either. The nature of this thread was more of a suggestion/instruction rather than needing open discussion, so I'm going to lock it to make my post a definitive warning. 'I didn't read your post' will not be tolerated as an excuse if you decide to ignore this warning and you get dealt with accordingly. Let's not have it that I have to write stupid posts about such petty dumb things again, save your insulting humour/bullshit for more appropriate places.
  19. Day 7's winner is: Liutvi ✔ Gratz @Liutvi Mestan on your month reserve slot!
  20. Tbf I do agree with the advertise part, getting it out there a bit more would be good. Though I don't see why staff shouldn't be allowed the opportunity to take part in a free thing which gives little prizes? The only people who really should pass on prizes (and we have done that anyway) have been me and Conor, because we have everything. Credits, reserve slots and tidbits aren't given to all staff so I see no reason why they shouldn't be allowed to enter the draws. :)
  21. It's once per day, if you missed a few days and decide to click on every day on the calendar you missed at once it'll still only count as one for that day. Maybe more non-staff should sign up and get involved (it's free after all, even if you don't care for the prizes)
  22. Day 6's victor was... Pasickle Congratulations @Pasickle, you've won 200 credits! ✔
