  1. This game is popular right now. Feel free to join my 64 slot Frontline server. Can add/remove game modes and maps as requested. To join via IP, press your console button (next to 1) and type: open 52.151.83.223:7777
  2. Frostie gets personal because he didn't like the truth.
  3. Frostie only really exists in the admin team to remind us he's an admin.
  4. Hi Wist, I work in IT as well. But I actually do the shit that allows schmucks like you to work.
  5. Probably not a needed icon at all really. It doesn't reveal any more information when you click on it.
  6. An observation I've made while working in IT for the last 3 or so years is that women are generally more stupid than men. Like really fucking stupid. /rant over. xD
  7. Can't wait to see the full results posted.
  8. This is the result of the fierce debate on this thread. Thanks to the team for taking the time to discuss the future. Next steps have been agreed for the community development, let's all work to make it happen.
  9. Mostly just the way it looks. It's an OS that doesn't feel familiar like Windows 10 does. They failed with it really and no one really spends time making stuff to be optimised for it.
  10. From Microsoft: "All good things must come to an end, even Windows 7. After January 14, 2020, Microsoft will no longer provide security updates or support for PCs running Windows 7. But you can keep the good times rolling by moving to Windows 10." In simple terms, Windows 7 will become a pure exploit dream within a few months of the cut off date. It isn't just Microsoft that will stop caring about Windows 7 either, you'll probably find a rapid decline in the list of compatible software once this goes boom. It's time to upgrade to Windows 10. There's loads of us IT people on TeamSpeak if you have any upgrade questions, feel free to ask. @Jak
  11. So TL:DR, There is still some drive here for community engagement to happen There is a desire for gaming servers to pop up for the right game and at the right time FiveM is actually quite a difficult thing to set up and some aren't too sure if it is the thing that will save Outbreak There is a feeling that the community members have separated into smaller groups that rarely have reason to interact with each other There is a consensus that the staff team should shake things up a bit @Sir_Conor + @Frostie + @giant_cheesepuff Why don't we have a sit down on TeamSpeak one night and just talk through how we can all contribute to fixing Outbreak without breaking any relationships further? From the responses given here it seems that people currently object to the idea of the staff team completely changing, but also express some frustration if things stay the way they are. However everyone wants this community to progress in a positive way that involves people. We should all focus on that bit. Meet us in the middle somewhere for a chat and then come up with an idea to pitch back to the community on another poll?
  12. Frostie right now: A discussion was ongoing about the future of Outbreak. You were asked a few direct questions by members in the channel at the time. "What's going on with Outbreak, what's the team and Conor up to" .... You replied "Nothing, OB is dead and Conor just doesn't care anymore".... How on this earth can that even be described as an "Out of context" comment? You made a mistake by saying that because you didn't think it would come back to bite you in the ass. It's what you meant at the time, and a week ago you would have given the exact same answer if it were not for this thread. I agree that his comments were motivating. But don't forget that you lot are falling right back into my predicted cycle. Give Akame all the credit you want. You guys are finished with Outbreak and you know it. I'm not discrediting his post but really the only new thing there was the pub analogy if you analyse the arguments that have been made on this thread. You'd just rather listen to him because he doesn't call you out like I have been doing for years. The poll on this thread is about having a new owner. It has a CLEAR majority for it, and the current admin team are in full denial about it. I started a thread with a main focus of changing the leadership team because I'm fed up with the crap you keep telling us about "where the community is", and the majority of active members seem to agree with the intentions of that poll title if you look at the weight of that vote. Unseen was one of the most highly appraised community staff members of all time, the community even tried to get him to co-owner status. He left because of Conor... The Mintlou curse of not being taken seriously because it's Mintlou still going strong 6 years on. Please look at the argument rather than the person making it, because it seems anyone who has the same opinion as I do and doesn't reference Mintlou gets massive praise and encouragement.
  13. As Frostie is new to the conversation I'll give him the benefit of a reply as his post mentions me. Because I still want to keep Outbreak a gaming community since 2012? That sounds like you speaking on behalf of everyone else without querying what the community wants. That's how out of touch you are, your own laziness has determined that utter rubbish. And every 4-6 months the admins have panic meetings and react to them, albeit the team never fully carries out its intentions. I must be doing something right. So what assistance have you given towards this RP server you've been convincing us is happening in TeamSpeak all this time then. And as you've decided to go in on me tonight, I would also like to take this opportunity to point out it was you who said OB is dead and Conor doesn't care anymore. That doesn't sound like happy assistance to me. As far as I'm concerned, no interaction with the community for 6 months is the time to move on. The fact that this is the tenth or so thread about this since Conor has been owner speaks volumes. Communication has always been a problem and you guys haven't done enough to improve on it. I cannot comprehend why you are even trying to defend these actions. You're so far up Sir_Conor creek that you're redefining what the community is without interacting with it like an Admin should be doing. You've come out the woodwork to defend your yellow name tag for.... WHAT? So you can look down from the castle and pour hot oil on those below who try to change things? What is the point of defending something you put so little effort towards helping. I'm not saying you've always been this way, but you can surely be somewhat empathetic to what I'm saying here? The admin team don't actually do anything and you're all still defending it all like they're worthy actions for running an online community. Are you bloody deluded? Seriously? Imagine you weren't on the team and it was another group in charge. Yeah there's a real incentive to use my real money to fund and manage servers for a community leadership team who's actions show they are done maintaining a gaming community. What I say is: You don't require ownership to remain as dormant user accounts on a forum that has massive potential in the right hands. Conor has a very strange way of expressing care of something if his tactic is to neglect it. I will repeat that I appreciate that Conor funds this place, I really mean that. I don't appreciate that these funds come on the condition that he 100% owns it; the funds can come from elsewhere, but the ownership should be broken down so more voices can actually break the stagnation that's plagued this place for years. This community has been slow and steady for about two years. If you can't dedicate the time to it, pass it on to someone who can. It isn't personal, it's a sign of good leadership. I know real life stuff can get in the way of things, but I don't see anyone else in the current team stepping up to fill that void, only person who really has the excuse of a real life is Lewis as he's gone away to do something with his life. The rest of you still sit on here most evenings and talk or play games so don't give me that crap. Get ready to read this again near the year end.
  14. I don't want this to derail into Mintlou VS Admin team again. It happens far too often and clearly achieves nothing. It is not appropriate for this thread. Thank you for responding so promptly. While I disagree with some of the points you raised and could argue in circles for 5 more pages about it, it's not productive and most of the points are only relevant to arguments we had over a year ago. I'll agree to disagree with you on this. However, there is clear desire for change as these threads keep gaining some traction whenever they pop up. It isn't just me is it? The poll here shows that the majority of members want to see something happen with the leadership team, and I think I also speak for them when I say that we don't want a light dusting off with a server just being popped up as a result of this moaning. An actual change in leadership is what they want. As I've said before. I will, and I'm sure others will work with Conor, but not below him. The results of him being the sole owner of this community speak for themselves, it's his money. Working together is perhaps the best move that can be made at this point. Bridge the gap between old OG and Yung beef to create something that both sides want. The stripping of anyone's position is bound to have negative impact, but adding more heads to the table is something that could steer OB back into proper community development. That's the goal here. I have nothing more to add to this discussion, but I will refer back to this thread near Christmas time again as I predict little progress will have been made if nothing changes very soon.
  15. No community update for 6 months isn't trying at all. The team hasn't even tried to communicate any of the efforts being made or struggles it has faced in an official way. I'm not twisting words at all. I won't name names as to whom I've heard those comments from, but I can tell you truthfully that they aren't made up. No. It's that since Conor was owner, he changed the moderator role from what it was when I was last in the team. Needless stripping of powers which I addressed at the time and the majority of the mod team at the time agreed with me, but at the same time were not as bothered by it as I was. I've argued before that the whole point of a moderator is someone who oversees the function of the platforms to uphold the community values. I believe that the stripping of core abilities like approving/moving/deleting posts is absolutely ludicrous for a moderator role. I still don't think I'm being unreasonable with those views. Not true, I wanted actual ability to moderate, look at my list again. I don't see "create channels and edit user group permissions" on that list. From memory it took a very long time for a staff response, and you were the first one I believe? Totally unnecessary. I give more than enough reasoning for my requests, it isn't just complaining. I will put the work in to explain it and although it sounds arrogant, I know that ultimately my version of what each moderator role should do would yield more positive results, as seen from previous Outbreak owners over the years. Which is precisely why you deserve to be trusted enough to have full access in my book. I'll check back in 6 months time when I prove myself correct yet again.
  16. Ok so server help is needed. Why then for the last 6 months whenever any staff member is asked what is going on do they all say "I dunno, no one cares anymore. We've given up"? This post isn't about whipping a server up quickly to shut people up, it's about the fact that there has been no sense of leadership here for quite some time. Writing an update post requires no more than 30 mins of your time, and you haven't done it. I feel we'll slip into the same old cycle that I've mentioned will happen in the past: Even after that thread which was two months ago and can be found here... ....Nothing from a member's point of view has actually changed. Admittedly you asked for server help and probably didn't get any responses from it, but where are the news updates and any other form of player interaction? No other staff member has tried to do anything else to make this a community. Yes I'd like a FiveM server, but ultimately the bigger battle here is a change of the leadership team, otherwise history will keep on repeating itself. And if you don't believe me, here's a list of threads that support my prediction, I was on the mod team during one of those threads and supported the efforts I saw in the background. As memory recalls, I ended up stepping down due to the lack of things mods were actually able to do that the time. There are threads that explain this in great detail. https://outbreak-community.com/forums/index.php?/topic/8629-its-over/ https://outbreak-community.com/forums/index.php?/topic/9205-time-for-change https://outbreak-community.com/forums/index.php?/topic/9046-is-it-time/ https://outbreak-community.com/forums/index.php?/topic/9047-a-very-overdue-update/ https://outbreak-community.com/forums/index.php?/topic/9044-is-ob-dead/ https://outbreak-community.com/forums/index.php?/topic/9011-prime-conors-questions-pcq/ https://outbreak-community.com/forums/index.php?/topic/8747-an-open-letter-to-sir_conor/ https://outbreak-community.com/forums/index.php?/topic/8382-outbreak-community-2017/ https://outbreak-community.com/forums/index.php?/topic/8171-what-do-you-want-from-ob/
  17. All memes aside, and to avoid this simply being another "Mintlou getting mad at Conor doing nothing again", just think about it for a second please. Don't think of this as me just wanting to get something out of it. I would not want to have this whole community on my own head. Listen to what people around here are saying and you'll hear something along the following: "It's clear that ownership doesn't care anymore, all of the staff openly admit it". So surely it's time to change something then right? I am genuinely curious as to why people are voting 'no' and would like to have a discussion on TeamSpeak about it. So if you're one of the 'no' voters, I invite you to share your reasons for voting so. To Conor and the team: If you're done with Outbreak, and can't find the motivation to create new content or try new ways to attract new members, why are you holding on to it? In the past when previous owners got to this stage, they would begin handover negotiations to the next person wanting to give it a shot. To answer the question of "Mintlou, what is your goal with this?" : I would put myself forward alongside another long time member to run this community and try something new. I would not accept this job solo. This other person would have to be as committed as I am or I would reject. I have asked another member who has expressed interest. I just hate watching this place do nothing for so long when there are people still willing to try and make things work. If you are interested in discussing it, pop on TeamSpeak. It is unlikely this thread will achieve anything, but if you try nothing you get no results. This is at least something.
  18. Also, inb4 some miraculous admin update thread telling us how much work you've done on a FiveM server you've been talking about for months.
  19. As Outbreak hasn't really done anything productive in about a year, I think it's time for something different. Many people don't really care anymore, but then I can sympathise with them as there isn't really much to care about at the moment. So, a simple vote. Should Outbreak change the leadership team? Is it time for Sir_Conor to hand this community to someone who wants to run it?
  20. Used this one: http://www.coolermaster.com/power-supply-calculator/ Although I reckon it is the GPU that is tipping it over. There isn't an option that I could see to specify the compact versions of the 1070, although the clocks & voltage can be tuned.
  21. Also you mean 1151 Motherboard https://www.scan.co.uk/products/asus-prime-h310i-plus-csm-intel-h310-s-1151-ddr4-sata3-m2-realtek-gbe-usb-31-gen1-a-mini-itx PSU 350W might be a bit close to the bar with that. I mean it would prob work but I'd go for 400W to cover yourself.
