As I wrote to the upper management earlier, I'm stepping down on this idea. After talking to Jaydog and sleeping on it, I've agreed with myself to not push this idea any further (at least for now)

But, I am happy we managed to get a proper discussion going on the idea, which is something I'm proud of contributing to

I think this was a good idea but just a bit tricky and possibily damaging to put into practice Allen.

At least you didn't suggest OB getting an IRC within your first few days :oops:

Favoritism is also the thing I'm worried about the most.

An easy fix would be making a rule that states you cannot vote for the same person x-weeks in a row, bit that sort of ruins the entire point of the contest to begin with?

But as far as the reasoning behind the votes, I don't think that would be necessary. A vote is a vote, that's it.

Edit: In terms of participants, I think members and regulars can participate, but only fully fledged members can vote, but it all depends on what people think.

You could also try adding a explanation bar which every player should write why and if you think this vote is to weak to count then don't count it.

Why not introduce yearly awards that are voted by democratic manner for multiple sectors in the community.

That way, you can vote for each year about every memeber.(most active, Most loyal, Most friendly, Most humorous, most skilled, etc.)

Here is an example in my other community:

The most friendly:

(Nominate: Members or Regulars)
