inappropriate sprays

I would like something to be made clearer to myself and others using the OutBreak servers.

my question is. "Is there a limit to what you can have as your spray"

i find that there are frequently indecent sprays being used and no one is doing anything.

I would like to know;

>what is not allowed

>how do we deal with it, IE do you get a warning?

>if so how many warnings

>and what are the consequences after that.

also if there is not an admin on, what can be done by people like myself to actually facilitate consequences, because its no good when there are no admins on that people can get away with anything.

For myself

I do not allow: racism sprays, nude sprays, specialy discusting ones.

I deal with it to give Warnings Telling them not to spray the spray agian or im banning, a few warnings before i do ban.

I dont know what the other admins thinks

The way we deal with it is by warning them in chat and over mic a few times, if they don't pay attention they get slapped like mad and eventually kicked, if they don't change it they get banned depending on how offensive the spray is

well that's all very well if there is an admin online to contact or if there is an admin in-game.

personally i find this stuff fairly offensive when its graphic and i see no reason why one reminder/warning isnt all thats needed. then ban. i guess biggles feels differently, maybe others feel the same way, but i think with the age of some of the kids that play on our server we should be a little more heavy handed on this one. i dont want anyone to take this the wrong way thinking i'm on a rant. i'm just wanting a bit of discussion :).

you may well say "if the kids are playing the game, they have the internet and can find this shit themselves" thats as maybe but i think there is a point where we shouldn't be seen to condone i

is there anything I can do, if i'm in game and there are no admins avaliable, to ensure that a warning is taken seriously?

There is nothing more to be said really...

To be fair we give them a chance to remove the sprays.

Also we act different depending on how inapropriate the spray is.

Lets say a rasict spray is there with something blablabla we act quicker then a naked women spray....

Also its allowed to have a women spray with her bikini or something thats covering the "parts" if you know what I mean.

In short it all depends on what kind of spray.

I play it by ear. If i'm on and someone has a spray of, lets say, a rather attractive naked lady, i'll guage the impact and affect it is having on the server. If people are complaining then obviously I warn the player and remove it. If its sprayed again then they are breaking numerous server rules and are punished accordingly. If people are accepting and no one complains and it just creates a bit of banter then fine i'll leave it.

Also, I tend to treat the issue differently based on the time of day, if you're familiar with TV programming, they have a watershed (anything that could be inappropriate for young audiences isn't allowed before 9'oclock) .

Obviously, racist, offensive, pornographic (as in genitals, intercourse etc), abusive etc aren't allowed.

ok so its clear that there is nothing to be done, but call an admin if you have a problem and on the chance that you can actually get one! then maybe they get a warning. it is more frequently pictures of male genitalia that is sprayed though the odd naked woman is not un-heard of.

I would like to ask why is "racist" sprays more serious than "pornographic" spray?

I don't mean to wast peoples time i am just curious.

Because racist is racist and pornographic covers more than one area - softcore, hardcore, xx, xxx, xxxxxxx etc

but are there not varying degrees of racism also?

I mean there are racist jokes such as the "Englishman, Irishman, and Scotsman" and then there's German jokes, and Jewish jokes and then there is using racist language, i won't go into detail. but i would disagree with you that racism is "Black and White" Pun-intended.
