Professor 0 Posted June 8, 2013 Didn't Biggles ban someone for something in the region of three trillion years by typing the ban command and then holding down nine until it went click? Quote Share this post Link to post

Skeff 289 Posted June 8, 2013 Which is pretty normal, because billion starts with "bi", bi meaning two, so common sense says one billion is a million to the power of two.So in the new system one billion is one thousand to the power of three, which just doesn't make any sense to me, goddammit England, why did you have to change to this stupid ass system.# Just stay on the older system, it makes more sense because it's powers. and if you dont like the word a milliard just say one thousand million, its the same thing Quote Share this post Link to post
Shadow 0 Posted June 8, 2013 Current system also works with powers. And it makes more sense because it uses powers of a thousand. Your system uses million but then all of a sudden you throw in the word thousand to say numbers that get skipped ahead. How would you say 1,000,000,000 In your system then? I mean if 1,000,000 is a million and 1,000,000,000,000 is milliard, wtf is the one in between then? And it can't be thousand million because you just said that's the same as milliard. So I'm very confused how you would ever name those numbers. Your system doesn't make any sense to me at all. In Dutch we use the word milliard for 1,000,000,000 aka 1 billion in English. Jeez thread derailment but I need to know. Quote Share this post Link to post
