So as a final assignment ( has to be done in a month ) for my 3D course, I have to model a full city scene in 3DS Max. Finished the 'block out' today and thought I'd share it here. What do you guys think so far? Still a lot of work left.

Can you guess which city I chose? Winner gets an internet cookie.

Well the trams narrow it down abit. Since i know you like anime so much, i would've said an asian city.. but i'm not sure if they use trams that much.

I'm not familiar with some of the locations you linked. My guesses would be;

Sicily (Marsala , Mazara del Vallo, Ortigia, Cefalu)

Taipei (Taiwan)

Bangkok (Thailand)

Any of those? Probably wrong :<

Still a lot of work left. Don't like how it looks but I suck at texturing. If I pass, I'm happy. 60% done I guess.

It's Lisbon btw.

Also that hole you see is where the last building will be, working on that now but moving it gave a good shot of the rest.

Well the tram isn't done yet, I still need to texture it. Not sure if I will adjust the shape.

I remember trying to learn 3DS Max. It was fucking hard. Atm I can't tell anything: I'll wait for roof textures to be finished and I'll make a guess. :) Keep up the good work, and good luck on getting gradez.

Have been working with it since October. Creating shapes isn't that hard but that damn texturing ( and unwrapping too ). It isn't hard to learn the basics, but getting to know everything takes a while. Mostly just requires a lot of practice.

Lisbon. They said it was good so I most likely passed. Things that lacked was mostly just dirt and weeds on the buildings, other then that it was good. Haven't seen things with light yet so I couldn't adjust that.
