Shoutbox

Could we have a shoutbox on the forum? It's just a small plugin type thing that adds a little box in the corner where you can shout things out, little messages and stuff. It's awesome!

Installing mods on phpbb3 is very hard iirc. I remember completely failing anyway, unless they've added hooks yet.

Anyway, if you are going to add mods, I request a "thanks mod", which we edit to give "+rep" - underneath each post is a list of people who have clicked the "+rep" button (if people have). I know if you install a thanks mod, edit a language file a little, and make two new buttons it works perfectly, and it saves people quoting a good post to say "+1". I've seen this implemented before, and it works very well.

I'm pretty sure we decided against this. If you want to talk to people, you could use the server, and it would discourage people from posting. It just isn't really needed.
