Start Mapping

I'm interested in starting to learn how to map. Does anyone have any tutorials that they would recommend, or any advice to get me started?

Play minecraft and put some blocks on other blocks and make it look nice.

Get this program called Source SDK. It's the best thing since sliced bread. Apart from all the crashes.

But yeah, if you search Hammer Tutorials on google you'll get a load of really good stuff. Or "Making your first map in hammer"

How I did it: Youtube, anything you need to know get explained step per step, if you really don't get it, search internet for more explantions. Don't bother others all the timewith loads of questions. I am sure they want to help, but still.. leave them some space also...

It looks daunting at first, but it is actually pretty simple. Just mess around with it. Once you've made your first map (as in literally a cube which you can run around inside) then it gets a lot easier.

Mapping it hard at first but when you get the hang of it, you can make alot with it, ive already made my first map needs some tweaks with the buttons. But everything else is awesome.
