Simon 7 Posted August 12, 2015 I recently made an Android Chat[instant Messaging] App for my academy staff and was wondering if it would be any helpful for the community. People who cannot use a laptop or PC for some particular time can chat with people of the community through the app. If it is any good then I will tell all the details because first of all it is based on open source code and is free but with some limits. Ooh, this sound very cool. Something I am worried about though, what about other platforms? Would a webapp be better? (Also, how did you make the app? Firebase database or what?) Simon 7 Posted August 12, 2015 I made the App using an open source backend and they provide cross platform support for Android, iOS and Web but I have never been near iOS coding. Quote Share this post Link to post
Popey456963 17 Posted August 12, 2015 Hm, what sort of backend are you using? If you could implement it using something like Firebase, bringing it to other platforms would be incredibly easy, and we could keep your Android version. Quote Share this post Link to post

Popey456963 17 Posted August 12, 2015 surely steam chat achieves the same thing It would be great to have a chat that everyone could join into easily and quickly. Steam chat can't contain everyone, and also doesn't save messages. You can download TS on both if im not mistaken? TS chat is really depressing on the server. It would be great to have a dedicated alternative. Quote Share this post Link to post
Skeff 289 Posted August 12, 2015 The forums is pretty easy to get onto if you need to get a message to other members of the community. Quote Share this post Link to post
Simon 7 Posted August 13, 2015 Well, that sums it up. If at anytime it is needed then do tell me. Popey - QuickBlox Quote Share this post Link to post
Skeff 289 Posted August 13, 2015 QuickBlox Aww you made it sound like you had created more than just using an API for this. Quote Share this post Link to post
