Scrobbesbyrig 422 Posted August 14, 2013 So the problem is, I have downloaded some mods for HL2, and I seem to have a problem with just launching the mod, so I click it, and it says Validating, but, because its a mod not on the Steam Store, it just tells me the servers are busy, and I can never play it. I was wondering if there was a way for this to not happen, ever again. Consider this a whining topic about how shite Steam gets some stuff wrong. Quote Share this post Link to post
VENGA BUS 2,027 Posted August 15, 2013 You put it in the correct folder and everything, and imported it to Steam? Sorry if that's a dumb question, I've just never have this problem so don't know what angle to come from. Quote Share this post Link to post
JohnDoe 0 Posted August 15, 2013 Lol, it happens if files are missing. Let it finish. Quote Share this post Link to post
Biggles 44 Posted August 15, 2013 You need Source SDK base 2007 to run HL2 mods, you can find it on Steam > Library > Tools Quote Share this post Link to post
Scrobbesbyrig 422 Posted August 15, 2013 I have Source SDK 2006/07 downloaded at the time I tried to play it, its a auto-installer, and I have checked that they are in the right file location. There are no files missing either! What I mean, is that when I click it, open it, it says validating, the problem is, because its not downloaded from steam, it stays at 0% and just says steam servers are busy, because it doesn't have the mod on its source location. It then force quits the validating, and its just an endless loop. Its a shame as well, because its a badass mod. Quote Share this post Link to post
