M1nt-l0u 1,235 Posted December 28, 2012 This is sorta like Jamie's post, BUT. I have a decision to make: Spending around £140 <-- that is not a decision, that's final. Shall I go Nvidia or Ati. Specifically the GTX650 Ti OR Ati Radeon 7850 2GB Leaning towards 7850 what do you think... Quote Share this post Link to post

Jake <3 0 Posted December 28, 2012 AMD is in pretty deep financial trouble atm, and likely to go out of business within the next couple of years. As much as I'd love to say buy AMD to prevent a monopoly for nvidia in GPUs, and intel in CPUs, nvidia will have a longer support period, and tends to be better value for money too. TL;DR: Nvidia. M1nt-l0u 1,235 Posted December 29, 2012 After some research, I'm choosing to ignore you all and go for the 7850 because in 9/10 benchmarks I tried on Anandtech.com it wins. Nvidia are higher quality cards and will have better drivers and stuff, but I've got an AMD card now and it's fine. Thanks for y'all help http://www.dabs.com/products/xfx-amd-ra ... 850&src=16 Quote Share this post Link to post
Fluxy 1,660 Posted December 29, 2012 Begs the question slightly Mintlou, if you had already decided which one you were going to have despite what everybody says, especially those such as Jake who clearly knows their shit, why ask in the first place? Quote Share this post Link to post
M1nt-l0u 1,235 Posted December 29, 2012 Because I wanted to know a General opinion, I chose it because it is financially a better choice in terms of value for money, I considered the GTX 650 Ti and was going to order it last night but then I thought I'd do a little more research and I just found that the 7850 out performed it in many tests. I value your opinions, I just also value benchmark comparisons and that is what made my decision and ultimately, real life tests win over manufacturer opinions, sure Nvidia are sometimes the better choice in terms of quality, but I want value for money and I don't mind having an AMD card, because if I feel I've got my monies worth and I've got the best card in that money range then I'm happy! T'was a key point though fLuXy and hopefully I have not upset too many Nvidia fans with my choice! Quote Share this post Link to post
