I play league

Hey I've tried getting into L.O.L, Dota 2, and H.O.N in the past, but I'm wondering, including Heroes of the Storm, what actually differs between these games because to me all that seemed to differ between these games was the type of players you faced off against and the Heroes and Maps you play with, am I missing something?

I'd start with league...it's probably the most friendly to new players dots being the hardest to learn/pick up. League is the most popular so it must be doing something right. HotS is an interesting one, I havnt played it yet so I don't know what it's like but for a hardcore blizzard fan like me I probably will have to. I started with league but have tried Dora several times. There is a sort of war between both but league sort if stuck for me more. I havnt touched HON either. There is another one that looks ok called strife but I once again do t know how it plays...
