Participating in OB Gathers

This is a short post that can be linked to new players in order to explain how to participate in a gather.

Occasionally, we host 10-man games, which we colloquially call "gathers". These are friendly 5v5 games between 10 players on TeamSpeak. To play in one, you'll need to signup to Popflash, who host these temporary servers for free.

1. Go to Popflash.site and click the "sign-in with Steam" button.

2. Click the "sign-in" button.

3. Fill in the requested information, you do not need to add the bot if you just want to play in gathers, but you will if you want to use Popflash as a less stressful competitive alternative.

The general order that Popflash's occur are:

1. 10 people collect in a room, usually the "Gather Channel", but not necessarily.

2. Once 10 people are reached, a Popflash and Strawpoll are created and posted in the channel. Join the former and vote on the latter.

3. Captains are picked, usually two people who are a similar rank and know how good most of the players are.

4. These two captains poke someone with either rock, paper or scissors. The winner gets to pick first, the loser chooses T/CT.

5. Players are picked, sides are chosen and the map is changed to the one chosen by the Strawpoll.

6. The game is started, you get a countdown during which you have to press the green button. Once everyone has accepted, server information comes up that you need to connect to.
