On top of the page you see "User control pannel" , click it. than follow this:

"Profile" (at the left) > "Edit avatar" and there you can upload a file or place a link from a websites which provides you that picture that you want to insert as an avatar.

Remember that the picture has to be within 150x150 pixels.
