    Good times.
Nice to see so many of yous still sticking around, especially the newbies who have stuck around and become oldies. OB has always been strongest on the community side of things, bringing people from both ends of the spectrum together and the fact you guys are still here just proves that point more. Although the jailbreak days were arguably the best, events, mixes, tournaments and just TS convos are probably what I miss the most. It's over yeah, but it's better to be a "turd in some overgrown grass" than a turd washed away in the sewage right?

I'd be a little bit hesitant with backing a dramatic website shift without a clear end goal in mind. If the website is a facilitative vehicle to a particular outcome (e.g. to advertise a server), then we should probably settle on what that should be first. That being said, there are definitely slicker sites out there.

As for what I'd like to see, ho-boy. A bit more colour I think. And can you explain what you mean by full forum integration, and how it's different to what we have now?

A dark night, the wind howled against the deep splatter of rain. A car drove up into the midst of the scene, out stepped a tall, handsome, black haired boy of late teens. He had a somewhat hunger look in his eye, his companion, of similar size, but by the deep sketches in his face and stubble surrounding his pursed lips, was clearly older. This was Mr Biggles. He circled around the car, and came to a halt at the boot, twisting the key and heaving the boot open, out leaped two enormous grey wolfhounds, they had a dominant presence about them and stood by Biggles as though they would fight to the death to defend their master. As Mr Biggles constructed the tent, Biggles went about finding 6 inch pieces of wood for the fire, occasionally pretending to mount them. With the tent set up, Biggles sat down in it, he un did his fly and watched his dad cook mayonnaise on the fire. "Come on in" he pleaded ;)
The smell of the roasting liquid seemed the attract something, emerging from the woods came a fully grown male grizzly bear, clocking in at over 1000 pounds, and standing at eight feet tall on its hind legs. Most would be terrified at this approach, but the two men seemed satisfied "we could use some roughness" they chimed. The bear began to move gracefully towards them, however, the two loyal dogs were not ready for their masters to lose their innocence, out of the trees they bounded, chasing the bear back to whence it came. Into the distance, the sound of the injured bears defensive growls, and the deep booming barks of the perusing dogs began to fade.
"Never mind" whispered Biggles, "we don't need them"
The zip of the tent was closed, and with the faded animals noises, the new noises of groans from both men began to enter the night. The climax woke every fish in the vicinity, ready for the energy they needed for the next night.

    Hello.
I know we already have a thread about "sales and or DEALS" but this thread is specifically about the STEEM SUMMA SAIL where we can talk about what team you are on for the race, why the other teams are SHIT (cockatiel) and what games you bought so far!

So if you have big balls and are an alpha like me @Jamie @Wist and @w33zy you know Corgi is the place to be. If you want to help OB please join team corgi. I have heard of some people joining other teams, not sure what thats about but they know who they are.

this is what my basket is looking like at the moment. Personally don't think I'm going to add anymore but going to wait a few more days to see if anything catches my eye!

Wist reacted to M1nt-l0u in Why you should consider AMD's RYZEN CPU for your next build - PART 3
    To finalise my yearly updates:
AMD is releasing their new 3rd gen, Zen 2 CPUs on July 7th.
The bit you need to know: Rumour has it they are faster on single core performance than Intel (previously Intel stuff has ALWAYS won here), faster on multi-core  (AMD Ryzen usually wins here) AND they are going to be cheaper than the Intel counterpart.
If all the above is true, there is no reason you'd buy an Intel CPU other than you don't wanna fork out on a new motherboard. And if you still want to be an Intel fanboy you bet they'll be dropping prices around the end of July to compete. Good for customers.
RAM has returned to normal pricing - in my head that's been £40 for 8GB SSDs are ludicrously cheap - 120GB SSD a year ago would have been around £70, they are now ~£20 GPUs have come down in price because Bitcoin died off If you are thinking of building a new PC, July/August is the best opportunity for the last 5 years to do it!
I've been following Ryzen from day one, and we're about to see the results of AMD's efforts. Support them to keep the CPU market competitive.

Wist reacted to Sir_Conor in Outbreak Update
Following discussion among the staff team, it has been decided that the current moderation hierarchy will be overhauled so as to better suit the needs of the community.
    Ranks
For a long time, the staff team has been broken into varying levels of power: Moderators, Senior Moderators, Admins and Head Admins. Each role carried unique access and permissions to various elements of the community as well as different areas of responsibility.
These roles are now going to be abolished, replaced with a single role: Staff
The aim of this new role is to equalise opportunity across the whole moderation team to give more freedom to any individual looking to help develop a part of the community, as well as sufficient tools to carry out their regular duties. Some members may still be given more access depending on their role within the team (for example, server developers will have access to servers etc.), but all roles will remain as Staff.
    Partners
Along with the ranking overhaul will come the addition of a new role outside of the staff team. This will be known as Partner.
Partners will have access to many elements of the community with only a restrictions, allowing freedom in their developments. They will not have traditional moderation responsibilities, but must be providing a service to the community (server development, forum development etc. but can also include moderating if there is nothing else to be working on at the time).
We feel that the introduction of the partner role will allow the responsibility of running Outbreak to be a shared operation, bringing with it some enriching qualities to break free from the stuff you guys are used to seeing.
Our first Partner will be a long standing member @Mintlou and we hope working with him will help us do more for the community together.
    Community Meeting
We will be doing a another Community Meeting update tomorrow at 6PM (BST) All are welcome to come and give ideas/suggestions etc of what you want to see from the community. Some of the things that we discussed in the latest Admin meeting and would like to bring up is:
    Discord Events Servers
Any member wanting to do anything in the community only needs to come and speak to us, we will try to support your idea any way we can. The changes to the team will happen tonight, and a community meeting is being held tomorrow night so that any questions can be answered about the changes. We hope to see you there; Outbreak is nothing without the input of the members, so please come and engage!

Note: This is not the monthly update - that will be coming after the community meeting on the 8th.
