  1. Hey Everyone, Time for another update on Outbreaks current future plans and ideas. New Server's Vote We'll be doing a small vote for the next Outbreak servers, we've decided to try and do two servers. The first being a Competitive styled CSGO server and Second something different, that isn't on CSGO. For the second server, it may not work out and we may also end up changing it later down the line but it should be something completely different that we've not really tried before and will be interesting to try out. Possible Host changes We're also investigating changing our current Host setup. We currently have a Dedicated server for all our needs (Teamspeak, Forums and GameServers) which has been used for whenever Outbreak has needed a second server for events and tournaments without any additional costs. Throughout 2017 to Present, donations have only been able to pay half our server costs and the rest has been paid by me up until now. With this change, there may also be changing to the Warden Programme as we may not be able to provide a server for suggestions. Non-Server based Event/Small Tournaments Alongside our possible Host changes we may not have the ability to do as many events that need a dedicated CSGO server and as such, we'll be looking into do more events that don't need one. Some of the possible ones that we have considered doing could be small-scale tournament style events for games like Worms, Rocket League, Poker, GolfIT and Age of Empires. While doing these type of event we'd like to try and get more people involved in deciding what event we should try out next. Final Note Finally congratulations to one of our newer Moderators on being promoted to Senior Moderator. He has excelled in his role and has gone above and beyond to ensure tasks within the community are getting done. Throughout these past few months, he has been proactively supporting me and the community using his own initiative. He has been responsible for directing multiple choices for the future of the community with the assistance of the Admin Team and doesn't show any signs of slowing down. So a big congratulations to Frostie. All the best, Sir_Conor & Admin Team.

Why did you need our Steam ID's?

  4. From your points, firstly with A and it's example of "Let's start banning people from Playing Football cause they cheated in a video game." For me seems illogical to try and use to justify it because these are Community event bans to discourage people from signing up and and ending up not playing for whatever reason that may be. It doesn't matter about what game it is at all and doesn't a way to argue your point. B is completely true but while C is also a possibility of happening but just like we give out event cooldowns limiting our playerbase for potential events that said players could want to get involved in but hopefully after being punished player don't give bad to no notice to event hosts, that players have an understanding that if they commit to an event they could make all effort to turn up and not just fuck it off last minute. Not that I'm actually in favour of pushing for event cooldowns on the csgo hub system, I just didn't like the most the reasons you gave when there are much better ones that you can give. ? *Sent from phone while I was bored in work
  5. Firstly, regarding the "But CS Event didn't get punished why are they?" I didn't manage the CS tournament, I simply was to assist with the server Tech and related questions that Kai had. I personally think that anyone who breaks the Event Cooldown rules, deserves to be punished for it. It's just up to the Event Host to interpret the rules, and to decide who actually deserves to be punished for it. Now onto Pasickle and Joji, they gave me absolutely no notice. Supposedly Pasickle had asked someone to pass a message along (which really isn’t good enough), but getting told by Pepe 5.30PM when the event starts at 6.00PM wasn’t particularly helpful. Extinct claimed he gave me a week’s notice, telling me that Danny and he wouldn’t be able to play. However, this ‘week’s notice’ was actually two pokes (no attempt to follow up via Steam, the forums or any other medium), and receiving no response from me. I only saw these pokes AFTER by searching through my TS records (I had been testing disabling my sound notifications for streaming). Whilst this might scantily just come under the umbrella definition of ‘week’s notice’, it’s kind of like saying that Rustlers come under the umbrella of a flame-grilled burger i.e it’s kind of true, but it’s mainly just shit. If I had signed up for a tournament but had to leave for whatever reason, I would at least make sure 100% that the event host definitely knew. If the event host didn't respond by my first poke, I would NOT just assume he’d seen it and taken it on-board. I’d tell my captain, or drop a message on the forums (either post on the thread, or PM). Or I would join them in Teamspeak for 5 seconds, to confirm they know. I would make absolutely certain that the event hosts had received my messages and knew the score, because I know how fucking chaotic events are when people: A) don’t turn up, B) don’t communicate. We’ve had a couple of stars in this thread who’ve managed to achieve not just A but B as well! I’ve spent a significant amount of my personal time on this tournament, which I’m not sure is really appreciated by anyone who doesn’t manage a full-time work-life, as well as a part-time university course, alongside the extra responsibilities I assume in running OB*. I’ve been chasing up every single person in this tournament, on Teamspeak, the forums, Steam etc. I chased and chased until I was 100% certain people had got my message. If I could do this for all of you, me, one person, for all of you, why could you not do that ONE thing for me, given all that I was doing to put on an event for your benefit. After I’d chased everyone, I’d then do a final check to see everyone was signed up to Battlefy, by again messaging everyone via TS and the forums. In addition, I also asked their captains to check if their players were signed up. For the picking phase, I had created Google Sheets documents to help team captains know everyone’s role preferences, rank etc in an easily digestible format. Spending some time testing out streaming, before giving up most of my weekend for the actual tournament, as well as managing the tournament, which whilst not sound like a big deal for some of you guys who are still in school or uni, but get back to me when you’re working 40 hours from Tuesday-Friday, with me at college on Monday for my IT course, alongside assignments. It’s actually quite tiring - weird, I know. I gave IrishChamp a tournament ban, and two normal event bans, because even with the an actual week’s notice, it was after I had checked everybody’s availability and set-up the teams. That’s the result for Irish out of the way. Now for the rest of you: you all receive 2 tournament bans, and 3 event bans because you didn't give me any notice. This completely fucking broke the balance of the teams, and pretty much twatted the tournament. The reason the punishment is this severe is not just because of the disrespect you guys have shown to me for the effort put in, but also the absolute lack of a shit you seem to give about the people who actually did turn up, but whose tournament you played a huge role in twatting. *I’m happy to do this, but I’d appreciate a bit more understanding from certain members, particularly from members who are certainly much more time-rich than I am.

    Background

If only you had a little patience. To everyone that else that wants to know we had our Admin Meeting was on Sunday discussing key points some of the key points over the past few weeks, Outbreaks Future options or suggestions and went through some ideas that both I and the Admin had and things that have been suggested by others. Most of the results of that Admin Meeting have been announced in the latest Outbreak Update thread here.
  12. This thread is for all any possible suggestions or ideas that you might like to give or get involved with. It'll be for all discussion, idea and plans about it. If you have an idea that you discuss with me hit me up with a message. Here is a link to the Previous year's event although it required a massive amount of time and effort, in the end, it was fun to run and see everyone getting involved playing with each other having a bit of fun.
  13. Thread for all new possible suggestions that Outbreak could either create a new server on. In this current suggestion phase, there is not going to be any real restriction except for the obvious of what we a feasibly actually do. As mention in the latest update for me personally, it would be nice if was an idea that Outbreak can make special, that will be interesting for new and old players and something that can have some sort of monetization to support Outbreak financially. I'm going to repost a part of my Hey Outbreak thread showing some of the things I personally look at when looking at possible new servers for Outbreak. New Servers Every time a new game comes out or something in OB gets plenty of players are interested in. Technically the first thing I'll check is can I actually create a community server after that some of the biggest things I look for are: What will make it an OB server? When thinking about creating a new server I want it to be an OB server something special, to give it OB personality. How can OB make it fun and special for new and old players alike. Players Does the server have a possibility of actually getting players? Is it popular in the community currently or is something we can get players over time. Members Can the players be turned into members. Is there a reason for new players to return to our server? Is there any benefits we can get Members without ruining anything for new players. Monetization Usually, this is just thinking about can the server be monetized to support OB. The OB coffers always need help and I want to be able to do special things for the community like tournaments that can back to people that may not play the main OB servers.
  14. Hey Everyone, Time for another update on Outbreaks current future plans and ideas. Jailbreak Although it has been fun for many of the players that have got involved with the Jailbreak server based on current lack interest overall Jailbreak is likely to close in the coming weeks. I would like to do an idea that was previously suggested by OB Members and do a send-off event for the game mode that was an integral part of the creation of Outbreak. Even though many of the current players now longer enjoy the gamemode at they may have once done it was still what started Outbreak and turned in to a community that we now have today. New Server Discussion Outbreak is going to be investigating possible new server suggestions as such a thread soon to be created will be asking the community about this, hopefully, this will stimulate discussion between us all to have a better idea of what we should do next. Ideally, for me personally, it would be nice if was an idea that Outbreak can make special, that will be interesting for new and old players and something that can have some sort of monetization to support Outbreak financially. Outbreaks 6th Year Birthday After last year relatively successful Birthday Bash at least I thought so anyway This year I'm going to creating a thread for any more possible additional suggestions or ideas that you might like to give or get involved with. Most discussion, idea and plans about it can go there or hit me up with a message. League Winter 2018 Tournament The League Winter 2018 Tournament will be played this weekend on Friday the 9th, Saturday the 10th and Sunday the 11th. It should be streamed via the Outbreak Twitch Channel so if you want to come and support us during the event. Also if you want to get involved in casting any of the games feel free to message me and I'll put your name on the list. Final Note On a final note, I hope to try to increase the amount and frequency of overall communication between Outbreak so hopefully, everyone has an idea of what either on or at least the current future plans. As Outbreak has changed from what we once were it may be time to overhaul look at what we can do you evolve and adapt to better fit our community. All the best, Sir_Conor & Outbreak Admin Team.
  15. The Teams have now been selected! For the Weekend Tournament of 9th 10th 11th of Feb Above are the roles that you have been selected for by your captain, they can be changed with a discussion with your teams however the captain of your team has the final say. If you have any questions about the tournament feel free to message me. Please click HERE This is to link it all with battlefy.com so that it can create matches and save all your statistics, thanks. As we are doing a 4 Team Tournament what is everyone's prefered tournament style rather than doing groups I thought about maybe a double elimination bracket? What are everyone's else's thoughts?
  16. Moderator Applications were open for Jailbreak and nothing else but you created your own imaginary role that you believe is needed and applied for it, Why would I approve an application for a none existent role. If you believe a dedicated forum moderator role is needed or other alternative options wouldn't the correct subforum to post be the "Questions and Suggestions" Section to actually discuss the issues you and seeing while providing your idea for a solution? You messaged me on the 9th of Jan to edit the Event cooldown thread, I pretty sure that I was actually busy, But anyway by the 11th you had messaged Finnley who as you said was there and able to sort it out. When I looked at the thread on 12th and saw "Edited January 11 by Finnley" Since it had already updated and everything sorted by Fin so I saw no need to get involved. I do have to question something you said How are you going behind my back by asking Finnley to edit the Event Cooldown thread? What? How? It a really simple admin task to just update the thread and remove your name, It in no way needs my input and could easily be handled by Fin as it was. For future reference, I would've said that if it doesn't require my input start just at the bottom of the admin team and move up as needed rather than starting for the top. To your overall "Forums are shit" etc.. For me when the community is in a decline like it currently is, I'm definitely a bit looser on the forum standards and are more willing to let people off with stuff, I'm not going to be as strict as at the end of the day most of it is harmless for a bit of fun. I'm not going to go around micro-managing every thread for the active forum members we have. I do agree that sometimes that a few people have been going a bit far on the forums and maybe it is something to look for and discuss a possible solution. Personally, I've been thinking about creating an Outbreak Communications Role, with the main responsibilities of Communication and Forum Moderation it try and improve Outbreak's overall Communication. For me, Forum Moderation is a lot more complex role as people can definitely have their own bais of what is and isn't acceptable, and letting people get away with more stuff has been more prefered than having to deal with complaints of over-aggressive forum moderation. Hope I've answered for everything that mentioned and understand my opinions on it
  17. Since you were messaged and agreed to a date would've liked to hope you remembered it The date is 9th 10th 11th of Feb I've messaged captains (Nick, Flash, Sov & Jesse) just trying to get Jesse to reply so teams can be picked.
  18. - Small Update - Currently, We've had around 17 people sign up for this and the response has been most people would prefer a larger 2-weekend tournament favouring the February dates of 2nd 3rd 4th of Feb | 9th 10th 11th of Feb Come this Sunday I'll confirm the size and dates of the tournament. For anyone that's interesting in everyone current Role Preferences Also current got 4 people that have said they'd like to cast. I'd love to get as many people involved with this for all of the games so, please select it when signing up or msg me you'd like to get involved in caster any of the games.

I would like to get as many games streamed with casters so when signing up please click either Streamer or Caster if you'd like to get involved with this. The purpose of this thread is to serve as a Q&A section if you have any queries and also for us to fill you in on any important updates. As this is a tournament, the stance on not turning up for this if you sign up is rigid and will result in severe punishments if you fail to show - so please make sure you are available before signing up. SIGN UP! Please only sign up if you are committed and can definitely make it and are willing to commit the time. Sign up will be done via google forms (link above) If you need to changes or need to drop out of the tournament msg me directly this hopefully will it easier to manage.
